What are your thoughts as to whether Turbo will go down in "beagling history" as a top reproducer. Would like to hear from folks who know alot more about the dog than I do.
I know that sons of his are doing some winning at the trials and some are championing out with Monroe's Reggie being on a hot streak since winning the ARHA Little Pack World Hunt.Would like to hear about other sons and daughters that are making top dogs.
How are dogs out of Turbo now producing themselves? Have heard of several that are breeding the blood close. Others have mentioned good success with Turbo x Blue Ninja crosses.

I got to gun hunt turbo about 10 years ago and what a pleasure it was. i had a couple pups out of him then got married and sold out dumbest thing i did besides getting married. im not sure how his stuff is doing in akc but i know in arha he has produced alot of champions. to me he should go down as one of the all time greats. im sure there will be differnt opinions.

There are two that I have in my kennel right now. I don't own them, If there was any chance that I could own them, I would take them in a heart beat.
The one male is out of Turbo, and the other male is line breed double Turbo, and is going to be hell on wheels in little pack.

It is not a question if he will go down in history, but is he the best in history. Turbo is the best sire for hunting, trialing ect. He throws extreme hunt, foot, conformation, heart and desire. I will say this, he can throw dogs over the edge, but every dog can. Turbo bred to the right bitch throws exceptional hounds. If you don't have turbo dogs in your kennel you are missing the boat. I like the way you worded that. Missing the BOAT lol that would be POWELL'S TURBO DREAMBOAT. When I get around to running a stud ad a friend and I had already talked of that being included in our ad...... If you missed the BOAT we have the next best thing. Greenwood's MaxTurboProp being one of the advertised Studs.

Max's sire is directly out of Turbo Powered by Prop
Also on our page you can see a link to Max's sire Dreamboat and see the likeness between Boat and Max.

My female Missy also has the same top side as Max.

I've got a young female that's out of a local bitch HBCH Sandy Hill Pat and Triple J. Joker. I believe Joker belongs to Jessy Painter, has won the LP world twice and is off Turbo.
I really like my female. She has great instinct for a young gyp. This is a second time cross, first time they made nice dogs.

I have seen a lot of Turbo dogs go over the years and must admit that I have seen a lot of good ones in Little Pack. As far as being the best ever, well I don't know about that, but he definitely threw a lot of dogs that could do well under the gun and in arha Little pack, UKC and some that could do well in the Midwest. Showboat and Reggie are probably the best two dogs that I have ever seen go out of Turbo.

My partner and I own a male out of Turbo's last cross with Talkabout Blue Iris, a cross made 3 time with outstanding results. One that is pretty well know in ARHA's LP is Jasper who won their world event one time. The last time I talked to Don Hoog, the owner of Turbo, Turbo currently had 21 AKC champions last spring. If our dog gets one more AKC win, he'll make 22. Don also said a fair number of these AKC champions are also IFC's. We will try that very soon.
This dog of ours has won this years UKC's Eliminator in very poor conditions, 5 above with 2 to 3 inches of hard crust snow. This event had 224 dogs. He has also won the AKC's Southern Large Pack Championship for 15" dogs down in Louisiana last January, a month before the Eliminator. He is also currently a dual champion in UKC's Hunting Hound format and is very close to being a dual grand. We also plan to run him in ARHA's LP and UKC Performance pack if time allows. He will be advertized for stud soon and he currently has 3 litters, the oldest being only 5 months old, (too soon to tell yet).
