Electric fence chargers??

Post by phill31 »

I'm wanting to run a hot wire on the top of my enclosure. It is about 35 acres. What kind of charger works the best and where is the best place to get them?

I would like it to be solar powered.

Thanks

Not solar powered, but I like the Red Snapper 15 mile range model 66B.
Burns the weeds away from itself.
Can get it battery powered.

Call 1-800-jeffers and get you a livestock magazine. You can order everything you need for your fence from the catalog.I just finished a 30 acre pen.The best unit i found for this was the Magnum 12 volt battery powered fence charger.Charges up to 30 miles of fence.Shocks thru wet weeds and brush.Has built in meter to show how your fence looks. If you choose you can also run multi-wire with this unit(wire at top and bottom).I run it at the bottom and the top and I am getting 6200 volts on my fence. The box is weather proof and just hangs outside on the pole. You can buy this unit solar powered or not.I just hooked a deep cycle marine battery to mine and it stays charged for 3 months then swap out the battery and recharge the other.Good luck!!Oh yeah, the unit without the solar panel is about $70 to $80.With the solar panel is was about $150.
