My husband says I love dogs more than him. Well, if he spends all his time driving in the Miata and leaving me with the dogs... what am I supposed to do? The dogs are here when I get up and when I go to bed. He's not!!!! He even said all that is wrong with our relationship is demonstrated by the hairless wonder! What the heck is that supposed to mean????

Guys (and gals?): the trick is to build up the number GRADUALLY. I have been married 14 years and I now have 14 beagles. Go up only one per year so they only SUSPECT you are insane! Also, it helps to let one go (choose one you really do not like anyhow) every now and then saying you are "cutting back" just to throw your spouse off balance! Then you can always add a pup later to replace the one you culled. I am not sure whether the reaction to a new beagle is MUCH calmer than it used to be or whether I take the lecture better now - LOL!

I must be the lucky one! My Hubby lets me run off to dog shows and he stays home and cleans up after them and feeds em. Takes care of the kids and never complains. Hell! he even whelps litters!
Don't anyone offer to buy him cuz he ain't for sale!!! LOL
Leah
PS: I have 12 beagles! and 3 teenagers!!! yes! he is a saint!

Windkist, LOL Thats ok, I have my own.
Any fights that we have are over the dogs, not about them. For example, I like to trial, he likes to hunt. Come fall there is usually an argument over who gets which dogs but he always gives in.
He also stays with the kids while I run off to KY to run dogs with my hen friends or to the AKC Nationals or out of town trials and all he asks in return is that I stock up on easy to fix food for him and the kids and of course that the dogs have plenty to eat.
I am lucky!
