Seven Dust For Dog Application, Whats your thought....
Looking for reviews from people who've used seven dust as a tick repellent by applying it either on your dogs or in thier boxes ect....
Let me know if you still use it, how often, how much, and anything else.
Also, what if any medical problems have you notices (dog related) while using it? Should i be worried about using it on my dogs?
Thanks,
Jack

Jack....I have used it with good results. I put it directly on them as well as the kennel and dog box. Havent noticed any health problems yet.

I am 40 yrs. old and can remember my dad using it since I was a kid and I still use it today. On the dogs and in the boxes.

I have used it and red cedar chips for years. I have never had any problems. It kills ticks overnight. Bob

It works great for me, and my dogs have never had any bad reactions to it. I fill up a coffee can and punch holes in the plastic top, and use it like a large salt shaker. I also fill up an old sock with it, and use it to pat their under sides.

I have been using it for 2 years and it works good. I put some in the bottom of the box then put the cedar chips in then put some on top of that and then dust the dogs with it. It seems to work good.
If i start seeing ticks on them i reapply it to the dogs.

I have used it for a long time as well, old timer told me about it.....Much cheaper than the commercial flea/trick products.....If you read on the bag it claims to be safe for dogs.....

I have been using it for over fifty years with no side effects. I can't add much to what has already been said other than just in case you don't already know, use the ten percent seven dust if your putting it directly on the dogs. I use eighty percent about once a year to spread on the ground all around the outside of my kennels but I don't use it where the hounds will come in contact with it. The wetable eighty percent works pretty well if you don't want to use the dry powder. One other thing I might mention is that the ten percent will not stay on a dog very long so you might have to sprinkle them a couple of times a week if your in heavy tick infested places like I am here. I use an old pickle jar with holes( an eight penny nail) punched in the lid from the outside inward and just turn it upside down and put the lid right on their skin and work back and forth against the lay of the hair so that the seven gets down on their skin and I don't get as big a mess on my hands that way.
I too, use an old sock but not on the dogs.I use it while I am out hunting and occassionally use it to dust powder on my boots and pants leg to keep those rascals off me....dogs ain't the only thing ticks like to eat LOL.

Do the dogs lick it? I've never tried it for that reason.
