My Beagle Rosco lost his adult canine tooth on bottom yesterday,,,,Will this cause him any problems eating?I dont think he can have rawhide anymore either,,,,,,his jaw was broke about 4 years ago and they anchored the brackets to his jaw which was holding his adult teeth they hadnt came threw then he was just a pup so now the tooth rotted under the gum and it just fell out after time?Let me know if you have or had a dog missing there canine tooth,,,Thanks Shannon B

It won't affect his eating.Canines are used mostly for catching and holding and rarely used for eating, especially in domesticated dogs.

My Chinese crested has only one canine and four molars. She is eating her raw diet just fine! Don't be paying for any dental surgery! lol Carolyn

The crested's tongue hangs out too cuz there's no tooth to keep it in the head. Best learn something from these dogs, keep your teeth or your tongue will hang out. lol The crested still chews cow bones and I limit raw hide anyhow. Also the more tired she gets, the farther the tongue hangs out. Now I know why we have teeth! Carolyn
