Jack...
Myself and Mike Hatfield have littermates whom were sired by Sport out of Branko's Running River. River is out of Lumberjack and Whiskers.
Mike and myself are both very pleased with our two hounds. At 10 months old both meet my expectations in all aspects. The hunt very good, run a good close line, are at point of loss on breakdowns, use their very loud mouths honestly, etc., etc.
As for speed that's something that's in the eye of the beholder. However in my opinion and I'm sure Mike would probably agree as well.... both are Midwest SPO speed and then some. In other words there aren't any grass growing under the rabbit's butt when Ticket and Sport are chasing him.

My brother (who doesn't frequent any beagle boards) has a male pup out of speedy sport. He seems to be pleased with him. He says that some days he really burns it up and others he doesn't drive so hard. I haven't seen him run, so I don't know if that means he has gears and knows how to use them already or what... I know he is under a year.

X-dog I have 15INCH male out of IFC Blackies Queen of the ace and Sport and He is 10 months old . He has a great mouth and is by far one of the most well manured and the best confermation on a male . Everyone that has seen him are always in awe, he runs a great rabbit with plenty of foot and he seems to use his mouth right and is very line controled he is tight in the check. But it is still early and anything can happen I just started to really run him now that the weather here in Michigan is good ,his nose seems ok not great, but agian I just started runing him .I love the dog he does not seem to get raddeled and seems very smart and level headed. hope this helps answer your question. I have been talking to Mike Blackburn and Todd they have pups from the cross that Mike made and they also seem very happy this seems to have been a good cross time will tell so far so good.

Charles... Did you female go big or stay small? Mike and I have littermates to your pup. Both of our males are 15" hounds.

She is med-to-fast speed, depends on the conditions, if she has to she will walk, and she can also push it, with an excellent chop mouth.
