Goes, You bet we would! Antime we can find a deal, support our sport and help out a worthy cause, it's a WIN-WIN-WIN scenario. I like the idea and look forward to it. Thanks

Thanks for the responses, for the other 90 plus of you that looked at this and didn't vote or respond, should I take these as a no vote, or as you don't the youth camp is a good idea? I am sincere when I ask this? i have made a few posts looking for ideas about the camp but have rev'd about a handful of responses. Please don't misconstrue this as frustration on my part, I value the opinion of hunters and trialers and beagle owners from around the US. As each time any of us start a strain with a post, we are looking for info from others, we need advice. I must admit, The Youth Beagle Camp has had more interest from sposors than it has had from clubs and individuals. I am just a hunter and love my dogs and have found a way to reach a few kids along the way. But to be honest, small pack runners thinks if Bracers are involved, it's not for them, if bracers are involved, than large packers thinks its not for them. Can't we just once put away our individual preferences for a common cause. Take a minute to look around at the states that are looking to stop hunting with dogs, and none of US (including myself) have done something to help stop it until it comes to our state. I am curious as a whole, which we are, no matter how we run our dogs (trials, rabbit, deer, coon, and so on) why we can't become proactive instead of reactive. No matter what your personal preferences are, we have an opportunity to bring in a new generation of beaglers that can help us in the future while at the same time making a difference in the lives of many NOW. But you will read these posts and just move on, if we cant even respond to a post, how are we gonna keep our sport the way it is know. Are we waiting for someone else to stand up and fight for us, are we just assuming because you may not belong to a club that you should just move on, heck I dont even belong to a club. But what do we as a WHOLE think of this, what do we as a WHOLE feel we can do to make a change. How do we think it is gonna look if we have enough sponsors to put 250 kids through camps and no one willing to donate their time to help them attend. Do we think these same copanies are gonna be there to help us when the government comes to take our rights away. Why would they, they will remember the beagler community as the one that cant even come together to support kids?
Just a few thoughts and I am begging for your thoughts. And if you think the camp is a bad idea, good for you, tell me about it, maybe we can alter to it and make it better. Or you may think it is a waste of time and our kids and sport is safe and dont need our attention. Either way, speak up, if you dont want to place it here, email me. I have alot of goods that will be donated for an online auction, all i have to do is see if we as a beagle community would support it, but so far 101 people looked at this post and 8 voted, I mean 8

, holy crap

what is it gonna take to get us as a community to stand up and look ahead for not only our rights, but our kids and grandkids.
I want you all to know that this is not frustration or anger speaking, I am just trying to figure out the best move for the Youth Camp. I mean if this was about stopping hunting, how many of you would speak up, or how many of the peta people would speak up.
So let me hear it, type, go ahead, you can do it, thats a good boy

Goes, I do not think anyone is not hoping your camp will succeed. I feel many will bid or what ever to help you raise money. You're just a long ways off up in NY.
Many of us live where taking children hunting is a way of life and there is no help needed to get the children in the woods. We do not understand, but do empathize with you if your hunting rights are threatened.
We also live where every Saturday and Sunday there are local schools and childrens clubs and organizations of all types at every intersection with buckets out collecting money for some local cause. At one four way stop, there are four different schools collecting at the same time all weekend.
We'll support you all we can and the auction is a good idea, but I want you to understand what some see as a negative.

Goes,I believe I speak for everyone when I say I hope you have the best of luck with the youth camp. There are alot of people that would support the auction but some just don't take the time to let you know how they feel. Most people would be glad to help you if they can especially if they get something in return.Don't give up on this idea.It is great that you are willing to help those kids.

Thanks John, I really meant it when I said I wans't frustrated or upset. I was just curious, that's all. I am surrounded by over 18,000 acreas at my disposal to hunt on, 25 mine, the rest farms that connect sgl's and wma's. i am out at least 3 days a week with kids that I have helped out in the past or jus me and my dogs. When it comes to the auctions or fund raising, it is so that any kid in america that wants to get involved with the outdoors, has a place to. As for this time of year and people requesting money, PHEW!!! dont i know it. I tell you somethin funny, I am an american legion baseball coach that has to raise $9000 to take my team to a tournament in michigan. we have been chosen to represent the state of NY. To put 250 kids through the beagle camps, I only need to raise $7000. When I do the math in boggles my mind. 20 kids to play ball 16 hours away, or put 250 kids through a camp that will benefit them the rest of their life. That's some crazy irony. And then next month the little league program I coach will have us out there. Everyone I know cringes when the see me cause they know I am gonna hit them up.
But on a serious note, I am asking
WHAT people would like to see on the auction. Maybe someone is looking for something special, I'll go after it if I dont already have it. This way, the person looking for it will save some money and the camp will make some money. Its a win win for all of us.
now my point on the poll. If 85 people out of the 100 that viewed this post as of this morning actually voted, i can use that to recruit more sponsorship and donations from the business community by showing the interest. I think I have an idea that may help. Check out the new post.

Goes, you know that in any organization 20% do 100% of the work. Most will patricipate, but now you have let them know what you need. THEIR VOTE ON HERE!!!
I must say, you and people like you are special people that volunteer your time and talents for children everywhere and anyone that has had children participate in sports, Scouts, etc. knows someone local just like you.
Ya'll get it done.
For all the hours spent and frustrations you endure to provide good times for our children.
Thank you, to you and all like you!!!!

Goes,
I tried to vote and could not do so. Maybe others had the same problem. I can't help but believe that you would receive the support of most of the men on this board regardless of what is offered on the auction.

Thanks guys and Dexter, thanks for sponsoring one of the kids.
So far this is what we have for the auction
Gift Certificates
Stud of CH MAC'S LITTLE BROWNIE out of NC
Electronics
Snow Shoe Hare Guided Hunt w/ lodging
Turkey Call
This weekend I'll be updating the website with an auction page that you will be able see everything that will be available so far, then I will keep it updated
Thanks again
And remember, a $25.00 donation will put one kid through and that will be one less that the auction will have to account for.
Keep the ideas coming. I'll try and get anything you would like to see at the auction.
