The dog behind her is 6 1/2 mo old I think he'll be even faster then her. I was hoping to run them in some local clubs AKC SPO but I'm thinking I'll get picked up fast.

didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Dogs running a rabbit. Best of luck in the trials!Kind of tuff to tell in that short piece But you shouldn't get picked up ever for being too fast.

Incahoots,
Whoooohooooo! Made my heart race and my skin goose bumpy.....weeeeeee! Gotta love it! Cute pup chasing along but that black and tan is humping in my book. I have a male that would be best friends with that one. Where is your area of Pa? I need to come run there with you sometime. If anyone thinks that hound is not moving on a rabbit than I don't know what fast is. Most runs moving like that around these parts are more likely DEER! Thanks for the RUSH!!!

When my life on earth is ended....this is all I'm gonna say...Lord I've been a hard working pilgrim on the way!
There are some judges in PA that will let a dog roll. You need to learn who they are. Also, up in northern PA and NY your dogs would be fine. If they are too fast for SPO in your area, then try UKC and ARHA LP, they'll be fine. In fact there is a UKC hunt this weekend only an hour from you, near Fredrick MD.
Don't give up your style dogs just because a few judges in your area don't like them, you may just have to travel furthur. I have a couple of dogs I can run in PA but mostly I have to travel to NY and NE.
I run in Franklin Co mostly. Had a great run Saturday, maybe we should hook up some time and run.

looked like good med. speed dogs to me.......really impossible to tell in that short of a clip though........even a slow dog will run that fast if the rabbit is right infront of them...... tough to tell
From the short clip, I would have to say the pup was better. Front hound made the loss but the pup cleaned up without missing a beat. I would solo the pup. Is the pup for sale?
Trust me she is fast. Just not sure if too fast for SPO around my area. She probally takes 1/2 the lines on my HBCH and he takes first line in hunts 95% + of the time. I was hoping to run her in SPO as the closest AKC club is a few mins away. I may send her up north to finish in LP once she finishes in UKC. Very impressive gyp I doubt I could take a video clip that would do justice to her or any dog for that matter. Just too thick in my area to get anything but a short clip.
HatterasBob Where do you run up here? Been excellent population around my area this year. I'll be down at WV state hunt this weekend but I will be at the next hunt down at Fredrick. I think it's the weekend after??
Ben that's the female I had the pedigree of down at the Maryland state hunt down at Fredrick. I'll probally bring her down to Mitch's this weekend.
Richard G He's not for sale at this time. I'll keep it in mind though. I'm sure he'd make an excellent snow hound.

Let me tell you she is a nice hound. I have ran with her on a few occassions. She is very impressive for as young as she is.
The little male is going to make something too, I believe. Under a 9 months old and doing a nice job.
If they dont pan out they will be given every opportunity to do so. Incahoots puts his dogs in rabbits and spends tons of time in the field with them, almost daily.
Incahoots,
She looks quicker in the clip than what I am use to seeing her. I still believe our dogs are going to have to go North to run SPO and have a fair shake. They just have to much foot. Let me know if you want to try the local club. Wont hurt to try and support the local club.
Sugar is now a HBCH so it frees me up to try some other formats earlier than I expected.
Good luck down in WV. We are staying here. Way to much traveling in the past month plus the upcoming two months not spend a weekend at home.
This pup I gave to my buddy and she is 10 months old now. She started last week (Wednesday). Her are 2 video clips he sent me from last weekend. I am figuring she will be to fast and rough for PA SPO, but he is putting solo time on her to see if she can run there. Tell me what you think.
Not that I know anything about different speeds of beagles, but that Lucy sure looks like shes haulin the mail. I thought my dog was alittle on the fast side, but shes nothing compared to that.
Jason,
Wait until you see my son's pup out of Sky and Bullseye. I run fast dogs, as you know, but that pup is faster then any young dog I've ever seen. The question now is does she have the nose and brains to handle the speed. Pete Young is in love with her big brother.
We need to get together and run. Give me a call sometime. Last Saturday I ran Becky, Trouble, Sis, Santana and Blazer together for the first time. Wow!
