Redd Man passed away today. Ralph found him in the kennel, just like was was lying in the sun. He was a great gun dog, and the first dog I ever put a title on. Redd would have been 11 yrs old in May.







Redd was definitely my pride and joy. It's gonna kill me to take him off the website...

Let me add that Redd's AKC registered name was CPC Pippins Elroy Paul, and he was of Paul Abell's breeding.

I am glad you had him as long as you did to enjoy,good ones seem to go before their time but Redman had a long life.Leave him on the website for folks to enjoy and lean on the memories of the past with him to ease your pain of loosing him.Well heck,you really didn't loose him,he will be in your heart and mind forever,I bet if you close your eyes you can reach down and pet him still.

Brian, we never got the chance to run him and Bear together. They would've been a pair.

No, Aaron. You're thinking of Maxx, the dog in my avatar, lol. He's still around and wanting to meet you again. Maxx is also around 10 years old. Jack was 14 last Sept., we know this is gonna happen, but Redd was the first of our dogs to actually go. It's hard.

Way back when, Redd was like our first true competition dog (along with Dolly) and everyone on the circuit knew what that big red male meant to me - he was my dog. They knew if Ralph took him out, he'd better not come home without him, lol. I remember one time Ralph took Redd over to Ohio to trial, and while he was gone out on another cast with Dolly, Lonnie Bryant snatched Redd off the tie-out and hid him in his truck box, just so he could see Ralph panic and look around for him. LOL. Lots of good memories around that old red dog...

I'm sorry for yours and ralph's loss.... I'm sure he was a great dog....

(lmao) look at the amusement on Randy's face. He was as proud for Maxx as we were, but we all aged about a year waiting for Maxx to bring that rabbit around, rotf!

I will let my stepbrother Jim know that he passed away.He asks about him every once in a while when he comes down from Indy.I am sure he will be down for at least a day or so at Christmas.Reddman was a beautiful hound and I am sorry that you lost him.

no prob Bev.He knows you were crazy about that dog.He used to love seeing in the magazines where you had done well with him.He is so involved with coaching ball for his kids I am not sure if he even runs dogs much any more.If he is down for more than a day or so at christmas I am sure we will get in a day of Rabbithunting though.In case I dont get a chance to tell you before then I hope you and yours have a great Christmas.

The day I decide to get out of beagles and then read this. That really hurts. Bev please remember the good time (we) had with Red. The first thought that came to my mind was Red and you and Fancie and I. I don't think I have ever laughed as hard as I did that day. I got to handle him once in a trial and even though he didn't win, he was still a champion in my eyes.
