Best Boots for walking
Was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for brand or type of boots. I walk allot of hills and hollers around here, and am getting me some new boots. I usually just wear a pair of 10 dollar rubber boots. But, my socks slip down, and my toes are sore after much walking. I figure it's time to make an investment in some good boots. Any suggestions?
If you don't tear up your boots by running through the briars, I would invest in a good pair. Leather, with thinsulate, waterproof, something with stiff edges and good traction. I have a pair from Georgia Boots that I bought out in ID over 3 years ago. I wear them deer hunting (if I know that I am no going into the swamp to make a drive) and rabbit hunting, shoveling snow...... They fit nicely, my socks don't fall down and I can run around in them all day and not have sore feet.
Buy the best you can afford and still wear comfortably. Don't buy something just because it is expensive and expect that it will last.
Now this goes right out the window if you tear up your boots every season in the briars. $10 boots last just as long as $300 boots in the briars.
Good luck,
Emery

Boots
18 Inch,Grange, Lacross rubber boots are the best wearing hunting boots for the price. A pair last me about two years and I spend at least 150 days a year in the water and the briers. These are the un-insulated boots.. They are easy on and easy off. They are made a little slim at the top and may not fit hunters with big calves... You can pick up a pair at Academy Sports for just $39.

IF you go to http://WWW.Wick outdoor.com You can order a pair of "frog legs" They are Brier Proof Hip boots and they will attach them to a number of Rubber boots. Both Muck And LaCross. You can also get them for Leathe boots. The best part is that if they don't fit you can return them if you not abnormally shaped and they will make you a new pair. I have the LaCross Burly and its like Heaven every time I slide my Foot into them.
