Since rabbit season has opened in many state, and for the one's it hasn’t it's just around the corner. It would be nice to see a listing of all the starting pens out they’re.
I know of one in North Central Indiana:

Cliff Troxell is the best in IN. He's up in Auburn. Has a 25 acre and (2) 18 acre pens and will keep them for the entire month, not call as soon as they open on a rabbit. My pups came back in great shape and doing it, even the 6 mo. old was running her own rabbit and doing it right.

One of the only problem’s I’ve heard about Cliff is that his pens are very old and have a great deal of holes in them, and there is a rabbit shortage in them.
I’ve heard this from over a half dozen beaglers that have taken dogs to Cliff for over 15 years. I’ve been told these problems started to arise about 5 years ago since Cliff was wanting to sell his place because he is getting older and it was getting to be to big of a job for him to maintain his facilities.
At one time I know Cliff was one of the best in the country at starting beagles.

I didn't see a shortage of rabbits at Cliff's while I was up there this summer. He had my 3 started the first week and went out with them for the rest of the month and kept me up to date on their progress. He may be getting older, but he's still good and he's not breed or style blind either. I know of some here in IN that want to put your dog down if its not their style or bloodline.

I start dogs and condition them here in Central Indiana. Indianapolis area.
I start the dogs in the wild instead of a starting pen. I go out with the dogs everytime they are in the field.
