Anyone Shoot A Parker Bow? I'm Thinking About Getting One...

High Country the only way to go....... My dad just got a Parker and he likes it. He didn't get the one you have linked though.

Xdawg I have a Parker bow that I have been hunting with for 3 years. I'm not into the "new fad" thing so I will have this bow for many years to come. Have taken at least 3 deer a year with it and I just happen to live five miles from where they are made. These people know and live bow hunting! If I can help anymore, please let me know!

I hear ya Channel. I have shot all kinds of bows from Hoyt to Bear to Pearson to Browning to PSE....... and none of them were as nice as the High Country I have now. Very forgiving.....very accurate.....easy to shoot in cold weather and never any problems with it getting out of time. I have been told Parkers are good bows, but I swore I would never buy another real expensive bow after the problems I had with Hoyt several years back. I WILL NEVER buy another Hoyt product!

I have shot one its not bad my brother in law has one but I honestly like my PSE better and it was alittle more than half the cost of that Parker Does the same job Kills deer and is comfortable and easy to handle. I have the PSE whitetail extreme and shoot with redhead carbon fury arrows and put just as much meat on the table with it for half the cost. I don't see a point in more expensive bows unless you are going to comp shoot then you get into thousands of dollars

I just got a Diamond Victory they are made by bowtech same company and everything just a different name. I used to shoot a jenning the diamond and the bowtechs all shoot alot smoother and nicer with alot less vibration. Diamond is the same as bowtech i think they are just cheaper but they are the same thing if ya ask me.

Go with what you want or what is in ur price range. Since everyone just has an opinion about there bow and whats the best so get what u want and don't listen to everyone else let us know what u get when u get one though.

Go to http://www.bowsite.com and ask around. That's by far the best bowhunting website out there. You'll get plenty of feedback there. (BTW, I used to be a Hoyt dealer and wouldn't own one now for nothing.... ).

i have set a few parker bows up for guys ,,i used to work in a archery shop for a friend of mine.!the ones i seen were ok not real hard to set up.but i prefer matthews myself.i have a q2 and love it.however most bows are better then the shooters shooting them so pick one and go with it.make sure the brace height is at least a 71/4 but the more the merrier!makes it more forgiving adding overdraws and such shorten it makeing every error by the shooter more pronounced..good luck!

Darrin......I loved Hoyt at one time. I spent a lot of money buying the new bows they turned out every year......but in the late 90's something happened and the bows turned to junk. ANy idea why?

Randy, I too loved to shoot a Hoyt at one time. I had an old early 90's Hoyt Pro Vantage that shot like a dream. Not as fast as many of the bows but that sucker was as accurate and easily maintained as they came for a compound. It had a decent brace height and would stack arrows like a machine. I stuck many a 10 ring and sent a Thunderhead through several whitetails, groundhogs, etc with it. And get this, I shot it with fingers, just a damascus glove and let er rip, LOL. I co-owned a bow shop at one time and sold alot of Hoyt's back in those days. Later, before I sold my portion of the shop, we started having numerous problems with Hoyt's. Cracked limbs, cracked cams, bows that you could tune perfectly, go out and shoot 10 shots, come back in and the tiller was off... And they got to be quite a pain in the rear to deal with as a dealer too....I got the run-around from them back then so much I swore to never shoot a product of their's again...

In any event, I havent shot a bow in several years....I gave it up for a bad habit. One of these days I might pick one up again, but if I do, I'll tell ya this much, it wont be a Hoyt..... Probably be something more in the lines of a Black Widow takedown, yeah, now we're talkin'!

I bought the Parker Easy draw last year and love it. Small axle to axle and it does make a difference in a stand. Very gradual pull not a very sharp let off point. I mean not a draw that goes from real hard to extreme let off. But to be honest it's what feel good and what your comfortable with. Shop around, most are good bows just personal choice.

if you like a sloppy back wall i would get a parker. If you are going to spend money on a bow i would buy a good one. There are 2 brands that are above and beyond the competition. Hoyt and Matthews. Now i can understand that you want something different because it seems like today that everyone has a matthews. If you want forgiveness speed quite and shootabilty i would recommend a hoyt v-tec or ultra-tec or a matthews fx or lx. Just my opinion.

my opinion is a matthews and parker are no different from any other bow ,,,,,you just pay for the name,,,,,i have a pse firestorm 31'' axel to axel and it will shoot with the best and about 250 dollars cheaper,,,

I would also recommend a MATHEWS. I SHOOT A MATHEWS ICON, VERY FORGIVING AND SMOOOOTH, YOU CANT HEAR IT SHOOT, I HAVE HAD IT FOR 2 HUNTING SEASONS WITH NO COMPLAINTS....GOOD LUCK...SCOTT

Why do u need to so when one brakes you have a spare.
