Has anyone else had any problems with foxes. They are thick this year. We have killed three in the last month and a half. I was in the starting pen Tuesday fixing things up so I can start training some pups and saw 2 foxes in my acre pen. Killed one of them.

Unfortunately you will never be rid of them , they are like coyotes, the more you kill the more they breed or new foxes move in... I have hunted foxes for over 20 years and never cleaned an area out.. I go to the same places every year and kill them in the same places..I use a Johhny Stewart Electric Caller.. They are very smart and can see and smell anything...try asking around for anyone that varmit hunts and invite them to your place to take a few.. I have made alot of freinds from people that have asked me to come shoot some foxes from their places... If you don't like that Idea go get a caller and try it yourself. Lots of fun and all you need is a 22mag..I have tried all the tapes made and will save you alot of time and money, get the Grey & Red Fox fighting tape and the Grey Fox Pup tape, these have been the most effective tapes on a consistent basis..These tapes will even bring in coyotes...Early mornings or evenings are best... I have had people come with me who were sceptical to show them how close they will come if your set up right, I have had them come up to my feet, I am refering to Grey Foxes as they are very aggressive, the Red Foxes will usually come in and but stay a long way off looking as they are passive, a cottontail tape will work on Reds in winter when foods harder to come by... Hope this helps..

BBK,

We trapped over 100 fox last year and by the looks of it we will catch that many again if we dont cut it short due to gas and time. I noticed a increase in my rabbit population earlier this year but they are dwindeling now.

Where are you located in WV? I have friends all over the state that would be willing help thin the fox population out for you if you want.

If you want PM me.

We seemed to have alot of rabbits around early this spring. Now the foxes have moved in the the rabbits are getting thin. I have seen coyotes around here before. People say that a coyote will kill a fox. All of the foxes I have killed has been pretty close to the house. I am not sure but maybe they are moving in closer to the house to get away from the coyotes. Hey Bill I will send you a PM.

When you are in deep trouble, say
nothing and try to look inconspicuous.
