I have been told that Spicers Ginger was a littermate to the Big Time Dog. If so that was an impressive litter as Ginger won the Illinois State hunt and the North American. Can anyone verify this?

I believe that was the same cross but a different litter. I was told that in Bigtimes litter there was 4 dogs. Bigtime, Biff, Twin a Buck & a female that I can't remember the name of. Bigtime & Biff are in the Hall of Fame. Buck made Grand Champion & the female made champion & was sold to someone in Florida where it was ate by an alligator.

Who was the sire and dam to Big Time, and who bred him? Thanks for the information. I put a lot of faith in producing lines. Just improves the chances to come up with quality hounds. Sometimes a little research pays off big dividends.

Mark Swartz was the breeder. Waylons Bomb is out of the same cross also. He won the World once, came in 2nd once, & is in the Hall of Fame also.

Rick,
My Dutch dogs Sire is a son of Ginger and Blueback. It seems to be a very succesfull line, the more I look the more champions and World Champions I find. Dutch won the Big Pack World this year. Seems like I was putting a lot of emphasis on the Blueback side, but Gingers breeding is pretty decent too. Do you have any of this line. You seem to know a lot about it? If so maybe we can work something out.

Duke , Ive got a full sister to the Bogus dog out of Blueback and Ginger.
She's one of the finest hounds I've ever had. She starting to show a little age at 9 years old but has always gave me every thing she had when she hit the ground. I also bought a Bluetick male pup out of Bogus and the Jasper female. As far as the question marks and DNA remarks go, I have Northway, Turbo, Blue Ninja, and Bleu Iceman blood in my kennels and the Blue Back stuff is just as nice in every way.

So the Spicer's must have done something right?

Thanks for the replies. Ky Scott did you get the Jasper/Bogus pup from Greg Brown? How is it working out let me know. I saw Bogus make champion when he was 8 after not being trialed. An older gentleman bought him from Greg and then Greg bought him back. Needless to say he did it in great fashion dominating a field of good younger dogs. Did you ever see Ginger run?

I hope he's built like him.

Ky Scott,
Dutch made Grand on the bench and also won the bench in the champion class at the Big Pack All American. If you look at both Bogus and Dutch in the Rabbit Hunter you can see Bogus does throw some pretty good looking hounds. I hope he works out for you. Greg is a very honest breeder. He only breeds proven hounds. I am getting two pups from him in a couple of months.
