My female whelped on 6/4/05. She is shedding/losing lots of hair. Could it be the very hot temps we have here in SC, none of my other dogs are doing this, but she does have thicker hair than the rest. Does having pups perhaps cause this in some dogs. Need advice before she goes bald!!

I HAVE SEEN THIS IN SOME DOGS AFTER HAVING PUPS IT TAKES EVERYTHING OUT OF THEM. YOU MIGHT NEED TO GET HER ON VITAMINS.HER BODY IS LACKING VITAMINS.

P.S CALL YOUR VET FOR THE BEST THING TO USE THERE MIGHT BE A BETTER VITAMIN FOR THIS PROBLEM.

I had a female that had a litter and started doing the same thing. I thought she might have mange or something. Took her to the vet and he said she had a hormone imbalance. He gave her a super concentrated shot of Omega oils and then had me put her on a fish oil supplement. Within a week she looked like a different dog.

Hmmm....... Wonder if that would work for me!!!! LOL

The hormones needed to carry a pregnancy make humans hold hair then once baby born, a shed happens. Probably same thing in dogs. Fish oils won't hurt. Carolyn
