Hi guys im new to this post and I dont have a beagle yet but i want one because i am an avid rabbit hunter. So I was just wondering what your favoriterabbit gun is. Mine would have to be my dad's old Stevens 16 guage side by side.

A Steven's .22/.410 over and under. The perfect rabbit gun. You never have to worry about shooting up the meat!

I use the Remington 870 12 ga or my Ruger 10/22. It really depends on where I am hunting and how much of a chance I am willing to give the rabbit. If I really want the meat, like I want to make a rabbit dinner, I will take the shotgun. If the cover is suitable or I really don't care if I take anything home that day, I will use the .22 and give the rabbits a chance.

I HAVE TO AGREE WITH BLACKDIRT BEAGLES. JUST THIS WINTER I HAD THE CHANCE TO USE A REMINGTON 1100 IN 28 GUAGE WITH MODIFIED BARREL AND I USED HIGH BRASS 6 SHOT. I FINEST SHOOTING GUN FOR RABBITS IVE EVER USED AND I NORMALLY USE A MOSSBERG 20 GUAGE WITH IMPROVED CYLINDER. IM GONNA GET ME ONE FOR SURE.

410, give those bunnies all the chances in the world to get away from you dogs and your gun.
I would love to have a 22/410 someday.
Remember it is not the gun that counts it the dogs that make the hunt.

Good Luck

My favorite rabbit slayer is Ron Cooks beagles they catch all the rabbits you don't have to shoot them, save gun and shells.

I shoot a remington 870 12 guage with an improved cylinder choke. I use number 6 low brass shells unless i am hunting swampers and then I will use high brass number 6's.

Hey Fatdaddy,
What kind of 28 ga. SxS is that your shootin? I've been looking at some recently and ended up ordering a Baikal yesterday. Didn't really care for the Baikals at first and was looking at some higher end guns but figured i'd beat it up pretty bad rabbit huntin anyway, and heard some pretty goog comments about them on the boards. For $350.00 I figure I won't be out too much if I end up not liking it. Y.B.
