Here's a question for the experts. I am not a novice nor am I the expert. But this question is directed toward the veteran breeders that visit this site.

I have 6 females in heat right now. I have 2 other females that are seperated from the six. These two are not in season but they act as if they are. They are not swollen, there is no blood, yet they let horney young males ride them as if they are. They curl their tales over their back and project their shrunken, not swollen vulva toward the male dogs. The dogs do not lock. Yes, I do know when both are in season and they're not. However this behavior is odd. Could it be a reaction to the other in season females?

Seems when the hormones are rageing, it affects them all. We got a young bitch hound in with a few others in season and she's rideing them all. Hasn't a clue what she's doing but the urge has possessed her. Most of us have had some go through this event and even though they'd never been with a male, the milk bar would fill out and they put on weight as tho they were bred.
I'd watch them for the next couple of week and remove them from the young males area, for they may very well be pulled into season by the other bitches. Error on the safe side... my 2/cents

SR Patch, I use to know a gal that went through events like that, I found a cure.......wedding cake! lol

Your right on that one Plow, the surest way to stop that nonsense is to feed'em wedding cake...lol...
