My Vet has told me give them a shot of ivomec under the skin. Use about .15 cc/10 lbs the dog weighs. about 1/3 of a cc will take care of most adult beagles. It will take care of ear mites, mange mites, fleas and also prevent heart worms. It is a very small dose, but it works. Clean the ears a few times with a little alcohol and a q-tip before and after you give the shot. That should take care of it. If you do not have your dogs on heart worm prevention, you should not use ivomec. Get them tested for heartworms 1st.

You can get everything you need to get rid of ear mites at your local farm supply store for a lot less than a vet visit. There are numerous companies that make ear mite treatment. I use Happy Jack Mitex. It works great. I use a ear cleaner solution before the first treatment, and then treat with the ear mite drops once a day for ten days.
