I have seen a few dogs out of New City breeding, all of them seemed to have good hunt, and Medium fast - super fast foot speed. Seems like a very solid line of dogs. The fastest dog that I have ever seen in my life was out of New city breeding.

I like the New City and New Country both.

I think the News are brothers.

Kim, (Big Dog) if my New City, New Country female will come in heat I plan to breed her to that fast dog you're referring to. They are distant kin on the top side. She is pretty fast also and accurate to boot. Luckily rabbits seldom hole where we hunt or they would be way too fast.

Not for the faint hearted!!!

You are right JOhn, those dogs are not for the feint of heart.(LOL) That Cliff dog of Mark Hatmakers can absolutely fly. He is a little rought in the check, but I have never seen a dog with that kind of foot speed.

She will stay in there with him. I guess she is the fastest footed I have ever seen or any of my friends have seen.
Didn't come in heat last winter and not this spring either, YET.
Ain't that the way it works???

i ve got a dog named new city scout. which is out of new city prized and new city classic cruz. iam looking for line breed female to breed to this dog. my dog runs and jumps good but has to much nose. hes been know to pop off a LOT most times hes right but sometimes hes wrong. i use to run against cliff yrs ago. cliff is a nice dog. cliff could run the hair off a rabbit. which its been 4 or 5 yrs sence ive seen ol cliff run. but any way the new city breed is all around a nice line of dogs. they got looks, hunt and can run.

John and Bruce New are brothers. If you have dogs with New City Cruiser in his/her pedigree, he/she is probably a big good looking dog with plenty of foot and desire. John places more emphasis on conformation than most field trial/hunter beaglers. Cruiser has quiet a bit of "show blood" in his pedigree, and he was still able to win something like seven or eight straight trials in the Mid West Association. I would say that most of the New City breed dogs are hard hunting, good looking with PLENTY of foot.

I've got a young female that has New City Crocket (New City Cruiser) crossed w/ Sock It To Me blood and Farber's Indian Outlaw (Ninja). She is a beautiful hound and coming along nicely.

I have a dog here from Woodpont. He sire is New City Coacher and dam is Woodpont Chimer. He is the fastest dog I have ever had. He can be slightly rough at times, but if a rabbit jumps and doesn't play a trick from the jump he better not stop running. No pack I have ever owned pushes a rabbit as hard as they do when he is in there. He will however fight for the front at times, but that is mainly when he is not in tip top shape. He has a lot of hunt and a good nose.
