no bullheads, but im pretty sure i had a snapper on... as i had a 5/0 hook straightened out

on one of the jugs. we were short on time and only put out 8 jugs this time and we had 4 cats and the 1 miss with the straightened hook. all the other hooks had the bait missing but we cant say if we had anything for sure or not on those.

Them catfish ain't the prettiest fish I've ever seen. Do the taste as bad as they look. Blackdirt you need to come to the Rock and cast a line for many different species like Rainbow, mud ,brookies, brown, sea run brown, English brown, Atlantic Salmon, etc, etc. Oh ya and bring your hounds for some hard hitting running in the wild. toot, toot. Tight lines

ive been to NW ontario fishing a couple years ago. black bear lodge near Red Lake. nice walleye and northern fishing. never fished for trout or salmon. and yes catfish are pretty tasty if you prepare it right.

Blackdirt, you need to start posting on
http://www.catfish1.com , you would probably fit right in. It would be a great place to learn about catfishing. You could post your pictures on the Illinois board. I have several pictures of cats I have caught this year. I caught a 9 pound channel today. I catch all of mine on rod and reels, it is more sporting to me. If I chose to, I could put out trot lines on Lake Shelbyville and catch 200 pounds of cats a night, usually several 30-50 # flatheads as part of the catch. I prefer to use rod and reels these days.
I think catfish goes for over $2 a pound at the local grocery stores. Lots of folks must like to eat catfish. I prefer crappie myself.

i like rod and reel also but lately been having fun with the jugs too. we got a nice bluegill spot close by and its not even a challenge to catch 100 keepers in about 3 hours anymore so i been concentrating on the cats the last couple years. i'll have to check out the catfish board some nite soon.
