female pup's first heat cycle?

At aprox what age on average do females first go into heat? I have a 5 month old and I was wondering when to start looking, and when to separate her from the males.

And another question I have is I just got a 4 1/2yr old who just had pups about 8 or 9 weeks ago, when will her body be ready to start again?

My youngest one came in heat in Jan. at 10 months old.

Most females will come in the first time at 8 - 10 months.

Most Beagles are around 9months old unless you have other females around that comes into heat earlier, as was the case with me in february, My 13" bitch was due to come into heat for her 4th time, in december and my 15" bitch was due in february and my daughters pup was not due until the end of march, well the 15 " bitch came in on time and my 13" came in the next day, and so did my daughters pup.

My males were going crazy !
