Any thoughts on a bloodline that throws extreme hunt and search?

KingsWood T Rex pups or strong Northway Spur bred hounds have been the most consistent that I have seen. I know there are others out there but these are my picks. Hope it helps.

all the larsen dogs around here that are strait from Dale larsen have tons of hunt

Rising Sun hounds have a desire that borders on insane, they will run themselves to death.

Kingwood and Mt State hounds hunt very hard. T-rex throws awesome hunt.

I think it would be helpful when answering a question if the response would include where you hunt and the type game, hare/cottontail, you hunt. Personally I think it takes a different type hunt to get up a hare than to get a cottontail out of a briar patch/brush pile. Some can do both. Some dogs hunt extremely hard but just don't like briars.

Guys just saw this post welcome aboard VA Beagler (chris) I am the other (VABEAGLER Brian) This is sure going to confuse my buddies but I registered with all caps an no break in the name.

Probably the two most known are T-Rex and Shorty i believe they are from Branko's White Blizzard. Can't say i have ever seen any run but always heard they had tremendous hunt and made rabbit dogs and that is what we are all suppose to be looking for.

I would say almost anything that came out of Ninja. I have researched the bloodlines and have found they produce very hard hunt, speed, control, nose. I also like NY Hillbilly own RS dogs and find them an outstanding line. Will hunt all day, everyday and they hunt the same regardless of conditions.

Gus if it dont like briars then it dont hunt I dont care how much it runs around.

I have heard everyone say they like different bloodlines like "Ninja, Kingswood T-rex, Mt state hounds, and many others, but my question is what are these names? Are they names of breeders, breeds, a pedigree from a dog years ago named "ninja" or "Kingswood T-rex"? Does the beagle community look for these type of breeds? How many different types of the "Alpha" breeds are there? where are these breeds located in the US?
I know these are a lot of Questions, but like I said I am new to this and I want to learn the breeds and respect they're liniage. I would like to find a bloodline I can be proud of and build off of. My son is five and I want to breed a nice pack of smart, healthy, well rounded dogs that we can enjoy.
I think my next dog will be a 1 1/2 yr female, broke, and from one of the bloodlines that may be suggested. I have a 2yr male 13" tri akc, started, and runs rabbits all day, but hasn't been working with the others and works to hard on one rabbit that has gotten away and weve moved on. Then I have a 1yr male 13" brn/wht, no akc, has run but mostly wants to run from one jumpdog to the other, without really helping. (think I might let him go soon). Then I have a 14 week old female 11"(should be) tri, akc, lightly started. She has been running rabbits in our training pen very well. she has started some tongueing and nose hunting, but very good sight hunting.

Maravicks Blue Ninja was a dog that did it all. He died at a young age but won about everything there was to win. There are a few dogs that he produced that are still standing stud. What you need to look at is dogs pedigree and see where the dog came from. For example: Farber Indian Outlaw is a direct son of Ninja as is Maravicks Blue Barry and Buckeye Blue Boy and a few others. All are outstanding dogs and all have produced in field trials, gun hunting and producing. Of all the dogs standing stud that came directly out of Ninja I prefer Farber Indian Outlaw. The reason being, that when Ninja was bred to Stonehedge Nifty Girl that cross produced Outlaw. Stonehedge Nifty Girl produced alot of quality dogs that both hunted and field trialed. I look at the fact that both dogs that produced Outlaw were quality dogs and so is Outlaw. Therefore down the line I will breed one of my females into Outlaw. The female I plan to breed to Outlaw is an outstanding dog and comes from outstanding dogs. I don't feel there is anyone who will critize you for asking any question. I know I have asked a million and even call Bev now and then with an emergency question. There are alot of great houndsman who use this board and they will help you or answer your question to the best of their abilities. Do all the research you can and ask as many questions as you want and then make a choice. Remember one thing, everyone has their choice on bloodlines and no one has this down to rocket science yet.
