Swing and Blackdirt were jawjacking a while ago about who has the better dogs. I got drug into it as a judge and a writer of the event.
I have chosen neutral ground that is relatively close to half way for both of them. BrewerMO has a rabbit hunting lease near Hannibal, MO. Brewer will judge dogs using LP rules and I will do it at the same time using PP rules.
The Date is Saturday, April 23rd, 2005. Both Swing and Blackdirt will be given maps to main event.
OK fella's time to put your money where your mouth is. No guns allowed. All dogs will go home alive.

For Progressive Pack's rule, I will pick Blackdirt.
For Little Pack's rule, I will pick Swing.
To Swing, Because it is for progressive pack's rule. Can I make a $20 bet with you in favorite of Blackdirt's dog. This is for fun only. I don't intend to hurt your feeling or anything. I just want to enjoy and think that maybe I can make a couple bucks or lose a couple bucks. I have never seen your dogs run, but just assume that they are little pack's style dog and if ran in progressive pack's style, your dog might be a little too fast.
If Swing you are willing to make a bet with me, the loser will just write a check and sended to the winner's door. The reason why I willing to make a bet with you is because I trust a person like you. By doing this, if you happend to win, maybe in the future I might make a deposit for a puppy from you. I know that not a lot of people willing to to challenge each other's dog by competing just between the two of them. I appreciate both Blackdirt and Swing for challenging each other to test their dog.
If thats what you want to do that is fine with me Beagleboy, I will fore warn you tho, I have entered my dog in 4 P.P. trials and he was only picked up in one, and was winning the cast by over 100 points when he was picked up, and after they picked him up they had trouble getting a rabbit circled.
Just thot I would let you know.
I say my dogs are more suited for P.P. than they are L.P.

Is this all from the post where blackdirt was attacking Swing, and finally Bev. locked the thread? I don't know if he was ban or not but a warning was certainly in order...
i already laid out my terms i would run under. swing can accept it or not. im not drivin to MO to run with him. he made the big challenge to run with me. let him come here. he's the one who is always going allover to run and hunt so let him come to me. he can bring whoever he wants to watch or judge. we can run as long as he likes. those are my terms and thats it.
That is fine with me Swing. A deal like that is just to get to know you. If your dog beats Blackdirt's dog, it is good to know that you have a very good dog. If I have a good dog, I would some day love to challenge my dog by competing with another beagler to test my dog's ability. Because my dogs are not that good yet like everybody else in here, I'll just keep my mouth shut and make sure that when I go hunting I don't miss any rabbits that ran by me because maybe my dog might lose the rabbit .
Deal is on Swing. I make my statement already, so I will not back out my words. By the way, $20 dollar with a 50/50 chance is much better than playing black jack. If you believe so much in your dog, that could be part of your gas money to help and motivate you to breed good dogs for events like this. I appreciate both of you for doing this to keep something fun going on for us in here to read about. Thanks to Emery for willing to take his day off for this to happend.

not quite right... i made a statement that was a generalization, no names mentioned and it wasnt even directed towards swing. he must of been feeling guilty anyhow and made the big "loser gets a bullet" challenge. never once did i say i had better dogs... never saw swings run so i couldnt make a statement like that but he must of felt his are pretty superior if he'd bet a bullet on it... anyhow thats how we got to this point. if swing wants to challenge me, let him drive... if i was gonna drive that far id go to a trial or go see someone i like but i sure the heck aint gonna drive to see him. if his dogs are that great he can whip me in my backyard. heck swing cant even contact me in person... he has his buddies do it.
go read my statement near the bottom of page one. then see swings reply. thats how this mess got started. id love to run with him but i think he'll be the one driving cause i know it wont be me.

For those who felt that field trail don't judge for the ultimate gun dog, events like this will help determine for the ultimate gun dog.
If I were you Swing and I trust my dog as much as you do, I will try to make a couple more bet with some other Blackdirt's believers in here and drive up to Blackdirt and whip his butt.
Don't feel so confidence Swing. In gambling, when we feel so confidence like you do now, that is when we will lose. Okay I will save your address in my computer and as soon as you and blackdirt are done with competing. I will either wait for my $20 or send you $20 check.
you know guys, this run is never gonna happen... you know why? swing will NEVER come here to run. heck he hasnt even said anything to me about it..LOL. i accepted his original challenge to run and said fine, come on over (you can read the other post and see it). well after that there was silence for a few days and them a friend of his posted for him because he said he couldnt post here (but now he does???). he had a bunch of details nothing like what i had said... that post got deleted. then now he has emery post this, once again completely different from the original challenge. he's posted on this topic a few times and hasnt even replied to me or asked me anything. in a day or two he will say im backing out and i dont want to run. that is incorrect, id want this run to happen more than him, which is probably why he keeps side stepping me and dragging this out. he's the one who travels allover to run and hunt, so if he really wanted to run with me, this would be just another trip to him... but he doesnt want this run to happen at all, thats why he keeps stalling. watch and see...
and i really want the moderators to let this post stay. i think everyone needs to read it and see how swing really is. ive never once changed my conditions of the run but how many times has swing?? or how many posts has he had other guys make for him?? just dragging his feet is all.
Well folks looks like people are going around like their dogs and chasing their own tail lol.....As for me posting for swing, he couldnt access this site for some unknown reason, we know what or i should say who controls that lol...I have one question for you blackdirt, and it is in no way intended to be a slam in no way, but why are you dead set on staying in Illinois?? I am sure if your dogs can run in all conditions, snow and sod, then they would have no trouble in adjusting to different conditions. Sounds like a good deal to me, remember he is willing to meet you halfway, sounds like he is trying to make it work and you are the one changing your mind and not wanting to run if its outside your home turf. Its your perrogative, but i think it sounds like a fun time. Cya.

chad - go re read the old posts and tell me where i changed my mind. im not worried about the dogs running in MO or wherever. ive turned down invites from friends to run in NJ, KY, MI and IN this year cause i just really dont care much to travel. no excuse or anything, i just like staying close to home. heck thats why i dont trial hardly ever... i dont want to go 2 hours to do that...lol. if i was gonna go somewhere to run, i can think of alot better places to go than to meet swing. he's the one who got bent out of shape and challenged me so let him drive...but oh yea... he cant even ask me himself . thats about it chad... no big story, i just dont honestly care to drive to see swing...lol.
