never heard of feeding the entire rabbit to a dog, but I give young dogs the heart and/or liver after a good run and kill. Rabbit bones are to soft and sharp to give to a dog.

Yes, always do that with any shot up while hunting for young dogs or they can eat any they catch.

Even young ones a few months old. Bring one home shot from the hunt and drag it around and rub it against the lemgth of outside of the fence wire and let them smell it, catch it, mouth it, then cut it up and throw pieces to them.

Teach run to catch has its rewards.

I do the same thing. I tease the young pups with a fresh kill and then I may cut a leg off and give it to them. I have never let them have the entire rabbit.....just a little.

There are 2 problems with feeding rabbits to dog. 1, Sooner or later you are going to shoot a rabbit where the dog gets there first and drags the rabbit off to eat it. 2. Worms. Some rabbits are full of worms that will infest your dog.

I don't feed any part to my dogs. When they catch one, after been shot most of the time, I do not want them eating one. I've had a few problems with worms after they eat a rabbit.

I feed the ones that are shot up bad, it makes them want it more. Just the other day I killed one and feed it to my 4m pup And the next rabbit she seen she was gone. And for the past week she has been a dream.

I have read that you shouldn't feed rabbits to dogs because rabbits are very often parasite infested. Don't know for sure just what I have read.

I never give my dogs any off the digestive system of rabbits , that is were most of the parasites and worms are but, have always feed them some rabbit ever now and then, great way to get a pup to know what you want him to run.

thats what he said its to help the dogs want them more & its a reward for them after a good run we already had 4 rabbits in the bag so the last one we got he tore it into pieces and feed to each dog
