If your in heavy briars you probably need Wick or some of the same type. I have had Filson they were comfortable but wore off up to the knees in 2 years of heavy use. I have had my Wicks for years and they are showing some wear at the bottoms but the Filsons couldn't take the heavy briar abuse.

I have seen and heard a lot of wick around being good stuff. I have never wore it though. I usually wear carhartt stuff and I never fill any briars through them. But I just went out and invested in a new pair of muck boots with a set of chaps sewed on them. They chaps have this material that is supposed to be new called balistic. They say its so tuff that a bore can't even run its tusk through it. Who Knows? Jesse Duncan

Bopeye,

The boots just say "Muck" on the box and on the side of the boot. They are 50% rubber and 50% neopreme. Jesse Duncan

I must say I have put my WICKS bibs and chaps thru some of the meanest briar thickets around and they have performed great! The folks at WICKS are also a pleasure to deal with and will custom make about anything you want. I have ordered several pair of custom sized chaps for my daughters and they love them too!

I have a good friend whom I hunt with quite regularly and he wears nothing but MULE brand pants and coats and he likes them very much. They seem to be good quality also.

When its cold outside I go with my wick ironlegs sewed on my lacrosse boots. I wear these coonhunting as well as rabbit hunting. Nice to be waterproof front AND back from just below the waist down. Milder weather I opt for my pointer briar pants however when summer comes I usually go back to the ironlegs because I can wear shorts under them and keep them rolled down and stay somewhat cooler and pull them back up when needing to trek though the thickets.

Jesse,
Can you help me out on this. I've been to several "Muck" sites and can't find the one you describe. If you know where I could get some, I would greatly appreciate it.
