this past summer when a couple of friends would come to run there dogs with we would have as many as 8 to 10 dogs running. we found out that it makes the dogs work harder for the checks. plus they had there collars on. and when i go hunting, we have 4 to 5 dogs with there collars on. it seem like the more dogs that we had, the rabbits would run better. i know everybody says the more dogs that you have the faster, the rabbit will find the hole. i found out that wasn't true. i hope this helps you

If I running just my hounds I run w/ 2 - 5, just depending. A lot of times I have just a 1 - 2 hours for a quick run and I'll just take 2 hounds out as it is easier to mess w/. I do use e-collars when needed and bells most of the time.

Anywhere from 2-8, usually around 4-5 though. I don't usually run with e-collars but sometimes I wish that I had because of minding issues....

I run 7-15 hounds at a time. And yes, I do use 2-4 E-collars at a time.

This morning we had 18 on the ground and killed 26 but most of the time we run 12. 6 of mine and 6 of my buddy's. I will say 18 is to many. Thanks Eric

PABUNNIEHUNTER,
I USUALLY RUN ANYWHERE 5-9 DOGS, AND ALL WEAR E-COLLARS.
JUST IN CASE. AS MY DAD USED TO SAY, "ANY GIVEN DAY ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN, AND ITS BEST TO HAVE AND NOT NEED THAN TO NEED AND NOT HAVE"
BUT MAINLY AS SOMEONE ALREADY STATED, WHEN ITS TIME TO GO TO THE TRUCK, I GO AND THEY FOLLOW. CAUSE NOTHING WILL MESS UP A GOOD DAY AFIELD AS A HARD HEADED DOG OR DOGS THAT DON'T WANT TO MIND.
THE BOY SCOUTS SAY " BE PREPARED "

I run a brace, errr not brace hounds, or run solo. I always have collars on, best 400$ I ever spent in hounds. No yelling,no lost dogs, even use them around the house for problems in the kennel, and to train my doberman. after a good 20 ga pump, a newbie, should buy a set of collars before he even gets his first hound. Would have saved me a bunch of money, time and lining of my stomach :???:

I solo run my dogs by myself but when I run with my buddies we will have about 3 to 6 dogs.

I normally run three or four and occasionally five. I hunt alone most of the time and four is about all that I want to handle. I have been doing more soloing this year than ever before. I usually have the shock collar on the dog that is most likely to give me trouble.

The UKC and ARHA guys get together in the evenings during summer. We have anywhere from 13-22 dogs on the ground at one time. When we had the 22 dogs down we never had a split, no checks, just the sweet sound of beagles. We had a gentleman from Columbus, Ohio, drive over to run with us, he is 80 yrs old. We all had a good time.
