Try not to be too hard on the registries for this. I don't think any are denying the info without thought. I can tell you for a fact that NKC quit printing the sires and dams when they took over the registry because it almost doubled the expensive "real estate" required on a printed page. They didn't own The Rabbit Hunter or The American Beagler and were tying to keep their printing costs to a minimum. They had not only the real estate to buy, but had to contract out the layout charges as well - which was a formidable amount.
I can't speak for UKC other than they too, do not own a beagle magazine. They must buy space as well. Even without the sires and dams listed, NKC was averaging 40 pages per month in the magazine just from the amount of participation at the time, and the fact they list the top ten dogs in each class, not just the top 4 or 5...and I was compressing the print as much as I could. I'm not sure how many pages they average with The Rabbit Hunter these days, but the print doesn't seem to be as compressed.
If you get the sires and dams listed, just remember the cost will probably be passed along somewhere. Even I am charged so much per page by my printer, even if it's a blank page. Dangit, nothing's free, lol! I recently got an increase in my bill because the price of raw PAPER went up. How it trickles downhill, eh?
This is just a perspective from the other side. As a beagler, I too like to see the sires and dams.
