SB Weekend Hare Hunt

Post by Swampman »

Well, my boys made plans with friends for SB party's so I decided to head up north to go after the ghost of the north.

Saturday I spent just running and trying to get some videos in the 3' of snow. They kept one hare going for nearly 4 hours and put 7 miles on per the garmin. Just to give you an idea, they typically put 15+ miles on in 4 hours, they worked their arse's off.

Sunday I left the phone/camera in my pocket, except for a couple of pics of the harvested hare, and carried the 20 gauge instead. Again, they did a good job and I harvested 2 hare after several circles each, they were down for 5 hours and put 8 miles on.

It's tough getting into position to harvest a hare in that deep of snow, I got a workout as well.

They were still wanting to hunt when I picked them up but I had to get back to the local watering hole to watch the game.

Left to right in bottom pic. is Rhett (4yrs.), Mandy (6 yrs.), BB (3 yrs.) and littermates Ace and Zoey (11 months)
