I have a litter of puppys that are 4 weeks old and 1 female out of the litter has one eye larger than the normal size and it is hazed over white with a black dot in the middle of it ( looks like the pupil of the eye ), this little female has been staying back in the corner of a boxed in area I have them in while the other 5 will come up to the gate and play. I have sat back and watched them and she will grawl and play with them alittle but she doesnt venture far from that corner. I dont really mess with them until they are about 4 weeks old so I really dont know if she was born this way or if she has something in her eye, to be truthful it looks like she was born this way. Has anyone ever seen this with a litter of their's or someone elses.

Cattle with pinkeye will look that way when it reaches a point. I would run the pup to the vet or it could loose the eye...

I have seen something like this. The vet can give an ointment that will make it go away in the early stages, which is what yours sounds like. The pup probably is staying in the corner because of fear of being caught literally "blind-sided" by the other pups. If it is the same as what i have seen, it is a fungus.

Thanks for the info, I have an appointment with the vet today, I was just trying to have an idea of what it could be before she went. I will post a picture of her eye and results from the vet monday just in case your interested in what it looks like and what it is.

i have a runt that was born with one eye smaller than the other. i work at a vet so i took him in to take a look at it. he said it was not that rare for a dog to be born an eye smalller than the other. also nothing that you can do

Often a pup will have one or both eyes stuck closed with a little crust or matter and it won't open normally.When that happens if you don't help it to open by washing the crust away puss will collect and sometimes an ulser will form.

The vet didnt really know what it was, he said it looks like the eye ruptured and he didnt think he could save it so I have some medicine and eye drops he gave me to try but he didnt think it would help save the eye. Here is the picture of the pup her right eye is all hazed over white. The picture isnt the best but if you look close you can see it.

That looks terrible. I had a pup get an eye hurt like that last year, it looked the same way except my dog didnt swell that bad, mine got gouged by another dog while playing or fighting in the kennel. He was about 6-8 months old though. It healed up fine with ointment 2x a day everyday for about a month or more. I wouldnt have given a nickle for his chances of the eye getting better.........but it did!

I had a gyp run a stick in her eye about 15 years ago, running in a new fox pen and it looked just like that. Vet sewed it closed, and treated it with drops and terramycian ointment. Vet said that there are several layers in the eye and that she had ruptured most. Eye did heal and had a small white "cover" over the area that was affected. Dog healed just fine. Vet said that it was like looking at a movie screen at two people kissing, the dog could see everyting in the picture but the people's head. Hunted her till she died several years later. Had a 3 year old that had an eye like your pups. Vet couldn't find anything in the eyeball itself or in the inner eyelid. It was all swollen also but probably from the dog scratching at it because it was irritated. The vet gave the dog a shot in the eye and some ointment that went in 2X @ day and it healed up just like new in about a week and a half. That was the awfullest looking eye I had ever seen.

Your pup's eye may have been opened earlier than it was suppose to. This sometimes happens while mom is moving them around with her mouth.
We had a litter of Plott pups and one male had this. His eye got very large and cloudy. He was and still is blind. He was shy too, as is your pup.
Just a thought.
