Clubs and owning or securing property

Post by travel »

Living in Southwestern Ohio and seeing running spots disappear at a startling rate, or government ground that can not be run on year round, should Beagle Clubs be in the business of purchasing, maintaining, and securing land for the next generation of Beaglers. AKC Clubs, for the most part, seem to follow this path, or their past has allowed them maintain the treasure. I have been to a couple of ARHA trials and understand how impossible it would be hold a trial on just a couple hundred acres. I suspect UKC is the same but have never attended one. But just having acreage to run your dogs of an evening is certainly a plus for me. Or is the expense/risk to great?
