Where does blue eyes in a beagle come from??? I don't have any,just asking...

Hey the ones that I have seen were pretty clean Blue as a pup, but when they get about 6 months old they turned black or brown..

I will never forget my first Grandson picked out pretty little blue Eye Male in a litter of 6 red.tan.white pups years ago,, he was so proud of the pup,, he name him "Blue Eyed Fred" I didn't think it would stay the color but didn't say a word . Sure enough at starting age,, he changed his name to Red Fred!!

Say, if you want to see Fred you can Click On the little Round ball there at my name Aubrey Holcombe left hand top corner that tell you when we join, where we located etc. that little round ball will bring up my Web Sight,, and when it comes up go down to the Males, there is a photo of Red Fred, and my old Hambone male also.

I have a female, she will be 9 next month. Had 1 blue eye her whole life, bought her from Brian Vinson in Ohio. She has been and still is a nice dog.

I on occasions have some with Yellow, but that is almost a clear eye?

Mr Holcombe, i agree, it is almost clear but has a hint of blue hue to it. Had a litter not too long ago out of Whitney Creek Hunter/Heat em up Scruffy, 8 pups, i kept the 2 with the half white faces/frosted ears and both of them have the clear/blue eye on the white half. That is the kind of marking where i have personally seen it, on a hound with a white or half white head. I didnt keep them cuz of that, i kept them because of the half white faces and frosted ears because most of the best hounds ive owned had those similar markings. I can't say for sure, im just guessing, but i dont think too many of those rabbit dogs in that Red Train have had any white heads.

Once again, those hounds in that pic are some real lookers!!!

Hey Bruce got them two pups tracking a san juan not barking yet but very excited on the track . My buddy had a female a couple years ago that had one blue eye and that was her name blue eye

Bear, good to hear, had mine riled up with their 1st encounter the other day but now this dang snow storm is here. Waiting for a melt.

Yeah we got it pretty good here around 14 to 18 inches not as bad as D.C.

Husky.... its all that husky in their three generation ped.

I have a few blue eyed pups lol pretty sure they ain't husky but they are part spanky.

I always herd them called " Glass Eyed "

We have a 15 month old male with one eye like that. I've always heard it called moon eye. Therefore, we named him Moonpie.

There was a lemon/pied basset hound with blue eyes one time, I hear that is where it all got started... lol

Puppies are all born with blue eyes, by 3 months old the eyes will be what they are. A black nose goes with the dark eye, the copper nose goes with the yellow eye. I got a pup awhile back weeks old, lemon with blue eyes. everyone said he's blue eyed for good but today he's yellow eyes.
Blue eye is not in the beagle standard so we don't breed it. jmho
