If a dog has these letters on its NKC papers what does it mean and what did it have to accomplish to get this?

It's a little pack rabbit champ. I don't run that format so I dont know what it actually had to accomplish to get it.

I might add this title is only from the NKC, National Kennel Club . All registries , AKC , UKC , CKC , NKC , PKC may be others use different prefixes . These are the most you see in beagles .

What criteria is used for dog to achieve the win? Does it win all casts? Thanks for all the input!

Yes the for a dog to recieve the win it must win its initial cast then make it through the semi finals by winning its cast and into the finals. Its all relative though go to a small hunt with low entries the dog doesn't have to beat as many dogs. Say you have the minimum required to hold a open class of 10. The dog has to beat the initial other 4 dogs in its cast and then runs off against 1 other dog in the final cast. Additionally the remaining dogs are placed based off placement and points so at small hunts the dog that just tagged along for the most part could potential place and earn points in the hunt. I run and judge little pack and like it a lot but as with all the formats I have participated in, I have judged dogs in the champion and grand champion class that I would gladly donate the brass to the owner to take care of.

I was going to copy and paste but would take up to much space

By the way how have you been well have to get together and run sometime when your up this way.

Dang, Mr. LR Patch,, you forgot the Most important, Prefix ARHA ? Suppose you not old enough to remember when the Progressive Pack (P.P.) was introduce in them mid 1980's actually was assigned to Mr. George Blaine, from oak Grove, La. by the owner at that time of the ARHA. Mr. Everett Morgan. I love the requirement to make a Field Champion, in that division, The Only one at the time that, required the hound to be Certified for Field Champion buy, having three (3) Lisc., Judged to take the hound with a time limit to Jump and circle the rabbit back to them when Shooting over the hound to make sure it was not Gun Shy!

That was back before the NKC bought the ARHA out. Just kidding around with you RV. Here is wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Rabbit Town, USA !

DADDDY RABBIT THAT HAS BEEN CHANGED NOW THE DOG HAS TO HAVE 2 WINS AND ALSO TO MAKE A CHAMPION IT HAS TO GO BEFORE THE CERTIFICATION JUDGES AND FIND ITS OWN RABBIT AND RUN A RABBIT FOR 20 MINUTES OUT OF AN HOUR. THEN SHOOT OVER IT TO MAKE SURE IT IS NOT GUN SHY. WHEN IT GETS 5 WINS AS A CHAMPION IT MOVES UP AUTOMATICALY TO GRAND CHAMPION. DADDY RABBIT I TALK A LOT TO A FELLOW WHO CALLS YOU ONCE IN A WHILE THAT LIVES ONLY 20 MILES FROM ME HIS NAME IS HAROLD ROSE . HARRY AND BUD ARE DOING WELL

I was just curious. How many dogs fail the certification after meeting all the other requirements to be a champion?

Back in the day, when I was a lots younger, I was the man in Charge of the Ga.State Certification Committee. I seen a lot of them Fail to pass the test.. Not all hounds can go jump a rabbit in a time required limit all buy themselves. Judges Can Not Help them they have to do it by themselves. I seen a few that fail the gun shot test, also..

Take your best and try it,,now if they bark three times,, thay have to be Put On The Clock. If they don't jump the rabbit in Three (3) minutes they get a minus - . then they have only two more times to try it again. Lots will Minus our..
