i got to thinking ... its obvious that some here arent big into shhoting and thats fine and there are some who think less of you if you jump shoot or dont get a full circle with the dogs. let me ask them this... whats a guy to do if he has no dogs?????? is he suppossed to run around and try to keep jumping the rabbit 5 or 6 times and then shoot ?? seriously though, im glad IL has hunter harrassment laws that in a nutshell make it illegal to interfere in any shape or form with someone who is legally hunting... whether he is jumpshooting any rabbit that moves or whether his dogs are on their 4th or 5th circle or whether his "weapon" that day is a camcorder... you respect what they are doing and mind your own business.

Some days you don't need a gun. Today was an almost perfect day to run. Temp in the 40s, there was a mist of rain on the ground and on the trees, and the sky was covered with clouds. I was out for about three hours. The dogs caught one and ran the other until I called them off on a check. I no longer like the extra weight of a gun and since I don't eat them, I don't kill them.
