Read through the thread and can't understand why running a slower style hound bothers people so much.

Do you guys that like em fast, like fast women, fast cars, and fast orgasms?

Sometimes slow is good. The older I get the better slow looks. When my gyp took a deer this morning I was wishing she was medium speed or a touch slower.

I have no arguement with anybody running whatever type, style or speed of beagle they prefer. What I do wonder about all the time is why people always say they run a "medium"speed dog.Why don't they just say ."Hi,my name is---- ------ and I run slow dogs?????

;) I have guys at our local feed store that run some of the most conservative bloodlines in the South. Not one guy thinks of their dogs as slow. They seem to think they have med-speed dogs. These guys Always run by themself. I've been ask to go with them on runs but they Don't want me or anyone else to bring a dog. If I had dogs that would only perform within my pack and could never run with other Beaglers....I would fold shop and sale out.

I run with several different groups of guys. We run our dogs togather and enjoy the company and seeing how our dogs perform running with other dogs. Anyone is welcome to run and bring dogs. Three of us turned out a total of 11 beagles Saturday afternoon. Many of these dogs had never ran togather but all did a fine job.

Likeemfast I underesatnd precisely what you were stating in your previous post and your analogy. You believe that the fast dogs with the "intent to catch" should show up in the dictionary when a person looks up the word "beagle". You have every right to your opinion as do I. Did you notice in my post when I said "just kidin" and "feed what you like"? Lighten up. This sport is fun for most of us.

Harry and likemfast, what is wrong with you? Knock it off and grow up. I can think of one good Beagler gone too soon who had too much class to publicly talk smack about another man's dogs, even if they weren't his cup of tea. This is a sad way to try and emulate him.

Also, I've banned moderators before for overstepping. Please don't think you're safe.

Oh and smart phones abbreviate "with" but can spell out "technology?" Right then.

Ron, dial back the vulgarity please. We do have kids on here.

Mark, I'm not worried about you. I know you can handle it.

I know. In a different arena I would say your words weren't strong enough.

The sad thing about all of this, is that we're all beaglers here. Some run slow, medium, and fast hounds. At 28 years old, Ive been around this wonderful sport for 20 years. I got started with my grandfather in traditional brace!!! I have no use for those dogs now, but where would I be right now if not for my grandfather, and those slow stupid dogs? Probably not even in beagling!!

We all have our own story and our own "style" of hound. We like what we like, but as beaglers we should all stick together and support one another no matter what federation or club we are part of!! I've been around long enough to see a major decline in beagling. The economy and gas prices are a part of it......BUT SO ARE WE!!!! If a new guy were to come on here and read this entire thread, would it make him want to run dogs or find another hobby? That's how I look at it!!
