GW, I can't find your dog show so please post it again. Do the hare in your area stay high up or down in the valley? Why would they be in WV and not in Eastern Kentucky? Are they the same as the Michigan hare?
Re: sample size
Buck, I ain't smart enough to post it again. The wife showed me how and now I forgot. I will have her show me again when I get back from the hayfield. They stay high. Eastern kentucky doesn't have the high elevation habitat necessary. One of the requirements is days of continuous snow coverage. Yes, you would recognize them as the same hare you have in Michigan. I don't hunt them often as they are not fit to eat. your limit is two . last time I went I killed two and I have some pictures here somewhere. Bradwv, if he wanted to could post some pictures of the habitat along with the Hares and some ugly dogs. I can stand on my front porch and look at hare habitat.

Hey, I found the video. Is that for real? Man don't like that running, just don't like running. That is what I want. Like everything I saw. Thanks.
Re: sample size
Buck,
You should round up a couple of your running companions and come on down and do some running. I know wireman knows the way as he has been here a couple of times before. C lo can come on up also and I will guide you guys into some fine hare running country. No competition, just listen to the dogs run and see who can tale the biggest tale!!

Re: sample size
I will see what John says. As far as telling tails, C-low is very, very good.
Re: sample size
Buck, that is a 10 month old male and a 10 and a half month female. The female over-ran a little more than average but she was on a road and you know how it is when they are on a road or a path, they want to stay on it a little bit, but overall they are indictive of how my hounds run. They are about a six on speed. Now that I know we have a video camera I will try to get some more footage. Bradwv, is being serious when he says he would not being running dogs with you all for the competition, what he did not tell you is he is very competetive with the " stories" . He will convince you about some " facts" for his creativity is very good For example, I have been on hunts with him and I was under the impression that no game was run or harvested and in general just nothing exciting happened only to learn from someone who had listened to Brad's account of the story That we actually had some of the best runs of my life, we both limited out , and could have done so several times over, The dogs only had one check all day and it was due to a Bald eagle harrassing the dogs, some of the rare and spectacular sights were bordering on the " unbelieveable ( no pun intended) I always liked Brad's account of our day afield so much that I always went with his version. Get ready for some rarely ever witnessed feats, I recommend going with his version of things , it is so much more exciting. What you would refer to as "telling a Whopper" Brad, would throw back for being too small.

I'd love to come down and run. We've mentioned it before ,just never seems to work out. Hey Buck, I'll do the driving , and you can keep "hydrated" to make the ride more comfortable on them old joints .
