Re: Check Your Patch Pedigree`s
Is "liberal" a code word for something that I do not get? It has been used several times and I just don't see the joke. Explain the connotation. Is "liberal" wrong as it applies to the dog world? This is a label that is applied to a lot of people but why is it funny?
On another note: I bought a very nice dog from a well known breeder and was given a pedigree and promised registration papers at a later date. I never got any papers but a pretty good run around. Did it affect the ability of the dog? No. Did it make me unhappy? Yes. Would I give out names? No. Will I get rid of the dog? No Would I like the papers? Yes.
What this has to do with this Thread is thus: I think this is a common issue. The only way to be sure you have correct papers is to have DNA testing and this just won't happen on most dogs. Until then, well I don't know, but life goes on. I now have a pretty good grade dog and learned an expensive lesson. Education is never free.

I AM enjoying my hound.NO the papers do not run the rabbit. Yes I would like to know what Plowboy`s Frosty Patch`s daddy is, and IT AIN~T Sport, not through a breeding through the owner of Sport in 1997.
Ah, my ol fox huntin buddy, good to hear from you. Thought you had gotten lost again . Good to hear your input even though last I knew paper`s didn`t mean diddley squat to you, but thats something we can talk about on Topith,Cassidy or Embery Rd. Probably helps sell a dog a little better though huh? What I think is every one pull`s this crap should be exposed.NO MATTER WHO. If the shoe fits wear it if it don`t ,don`t put it on your foot.
There was also mention in a conversation with me of a co owner on Sport,Swamp bought Sport from Bill and he from Doc Fergeson who had already Championed him out by 2 yrs old. If Frosty was born in Sept 1991 like I was told, she couldn`t have been whelped 12/2/1997 akc documented. I`m sorry maybe I didn`t hear correctly.
It would be nice if some one had guts enough to step up and say what her daddy is. As far as Conditional paper`s put them on top of the roll and use them up. I don`t really think the other three guy`s that were mentioned to me are gonna volenteer.
I know this is a free forum, but if you can`t understand the importance of the lineage of a dog that some one is thrying to build a pack with and what his has done I wish you wouldn`t even reply.

Re: Check Your Patch Pedigree`s
Who is a honest person ? Is a honest person just honest in one area of their life or is a truly honest person honest in all area's of there life ? A person can be the most honest person in the world when it comes to breeding dogs but everytime that person get's the chance will they go out on there wife ? so is he honest with his wife and marriage. Well you say i'm honest in that department too, but have you ever looked on a woman to lust after her ? If you have your just as guilty. How many people are completly honest when they fill out their tax returns. How many people break the speed limit on a interstate or driving down a country road ? I think all of us have. Were we honest with the law of the land when we broke the speed limit ? How many times have there been people requested pray on this board for a love one and you replied, pray sent. Did you really burden your heart for that person and pray for them ? Now can we say that we are truly honest people or just honest in things we want to be honest in ? He that is without sin let him cast the first stone.

Here's the thing. I haven't heard anyone say they thought it was "ok" to forge papers. I haven't heard anyone say, "your feelings don't matter." I haven't heard anyone say, "let the guy off the hook." Nobody has said that. Those who have replied who don't have a dog in this race were only trying to offer some comfort, and some suggestions on how to move forward from here. You guys are so busy being pissed that you can't see that. And as long as you can't see past your immediate anger, nothing will be done to get things back on track. And they WILL eventually get back on track if everyone stays patient, works together, and lets the 3-generation wash imposed by AKC run its course.I know this is a free forum, but if you can`t understand the importance of the lineage of a dog that some one is thrying to build a pack with and what his has done I wish you wouldn`t even reply
Until then, keep running the mutts. And try not to think about ALLLLLL the things that were done before DNA was around to prove it differently.
Re: Check Your Patch Pedigree`s
Charley, you know I feel for you. I know how much you care for those funny colored dogs. In the old days, we could have handled this type of thing in a different manner and I am sure you would have. Way I see it, all dogs affected are still patch hounds and probably still pure, we just don't know which pure sire they have. If the dogs alive now are good dogs, then it would stand to reason that the sire years ago was probably a pretty good dog too.
Looking forward to discussing this old buddy.

Re: Check Your Patch Pedigree`s
unintentional forgery
is there such a thing ---- a little screw up--- those are real comforting words
if it were your mutts would you be posting those kind of comments when you were the one lied too --- cheated --- decieved
and paid good money for the hound.

Re: Check Your Patch Pedigree`s
cojax, if you can't handle some disappointment, cheating and misfortune, you're in the wrong sport. But besides that, everyone has tried and convicted a person based on something someone on a MESSAGE BOARD said. We don't know the whole story. Want to hear a different side? I've been getting private messages like crazy since this was posted, and I've had more than one person tell me that the person who started this thread is a known liar, so they were skeptical. Now, he may well be telling the truth, but if he's lied about anything in the past, ANYTHING...is he really any better than the person who allegedly forged the papers? Well of course he is. Because his past lies didn't affect YOU, right? If the lies affect YOU, then it's unforgivable.
As far as my dogs go? There's no telling if my dogs are 100% what the pedigrees said they were. I'd say mostly, but there's no proof. It was an honor system back then, easily skirted, and it's an honor system right now -- until the puppies are DNA's at birth, and even that can be gotten around. In one litter that would share the same DNA, there could be world beaters and s**teaters. Both are kenneled next to a bitch in heat. The owner comes out to feed and all the males have dug under into her kennel, and they're all smoking a cigarette. You fill in the blanks. If you don't think this sort of thing happens, then keep living in wonderland.
Everybody seems to want to expose cheaters in a public forum. They think it's their duty to be judge, jury, and executioner...until it's their turn in the barrel. then's it's not so darn funny. Just remember. Your time can come -- from anybody who feels like sticking it to you, so you'd better play nice with these boys. Whether they are telling the truth or not, the damage will be done.

Re: Check Your Patch Pedigree`s
We all know I`m the one that started this thread.I was told by a couple fellas that a person posted on here,Why did I not come hunt with him I lied about that or something to that effect.Tried to find the post so I could respond guess some one removed it. If it`s the person around Inez Ky or that local, you told me the snakes were bad. Then with the deal you reniged on and me on the way to get a money order for you,( which is your perogative) I lost interest. Kinda hard to respond to something thats not there. Put it back on I don`t have a thing to hide, from any one
I expected to get a lot of flack and be called a liar but never expected grown men to hide behind you Bev.

Re: Check Your Patch Pedigree`s
I dont know everybody involeed in this. But I do know I was going to get a pup and this stoped it. He has never lied to me and I would like to thank him for posting this. Why would a man lie about this when it is hurting him? His pups can not be sold as AKC dogs, and the dogs that they are off of are now grade dogs. I dont see why he would do this other than trying to do the right thing. SO I SAY AGAIN THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW.
Re: Check Your Patch Pedigree`s
Tsa la gi, nobody was hiding behind me, I can't say for sure where they were from, but I'm glad you clarified things.
As Owner/Admin of this board I hear from everybody whenever there's something like this going on. There are a half-dozen takes on every situation and sometimes it makes me a little short to hear people jumping up and down like Yosemite Sam. As if any one person knows the deal 100%. There could be a thousand different reasons and scenarios as to why something happens.
Let me just throw something out into the atmosphere. This is NOTHING that I was told or deducted from any correspondence -- it's completely fiction, but I want you to answer it anyway. If your 12-year-old daughter begged you to let her help with the dogs, to get involved and learn how to raise a litter from breeding the female to watching the puppies be born, to vaccinating them the first time, to filling out the litter registration....then the phone rings and you have to take that call... She thinks the litter was sired by Frosty because you've kenneled him with 2 other males and she's been calling the wrong dog Frosty all along.
And then years later a discrepancy shows up and by tracing back you figure out what happened. Your daughter is now very active in the beagle club and not out somewhere on drugs or standing on a corner with a mattress strapped to her back like some. This news has come out. SOMEBODY'S gonna take the blame for it and suffer the persecution that some are so willing to dish out. Do you keep silent and let people believe it was your doing, or do you feed your daughter to the wolves for something she did when she was twelve?
Way out there, isn't it? Or is it?
Everybody needs to hold their judgment IMO and let AKC do what it will do. I'm sure it won't go unpunished. The task at hand is to unravel the paperwork, put it right, and go on.
I'm done with this. Y'all can enjoy your bashfest unencumbered.
