Can you name all 12?

Does AKC keep up with the recent FC's out of Studs?
I can name 10 of them, but when you get a result from AKC they just include the numbers, they don’t list each Field Champion by name. Green Bay Butkus, Glacier Ridge Renegade, Green Bay Big Booty Judy, Snow Rub Buel, Green Bay Holly Hunter, Green Bay Moxy Foxy, Snow Run Rita, Green Bay Nemasket Singer, Whitney Creek Captain Jack and Green Bay Holly Hunter.

And as far as I know, as soon as the paperwork is done, a dog’s field champion status is listed and updated immediately. You are right about the cross with Nemasket's Big Spring, it was a nice cross. It was made 2 times with 8 in one litter and 7 in the other. Out of the total 15 pups, 2 made AKC Field Champions.

But AKC wants to charge you for every inquiry, so they don’t make it easy to find out basic information. It would be nice if some of these Federations or Formats would post a lot of this information on their websites. Also, AKC won’t accept a request over the phone, every request must be sent to them in writing.

But I do stand corrected concerning Dingus Macrae, I stated the article said “40”, and though he did indeed produce over 40, some of them finished in Canada but not in the US.

I was wondering if this line is trialed in NKC Little Pack also. Are these dogs primarily trialed in more conservative AKC trials?

Sounds like several like what he has produced.

From what I have personally seen they are line running dogs that really, really work the point of loss. If continuous running can win in little pack then they could compete from what I have seen. I have seen the most conservative stuff out of conservative med. speed females. I LOVE the line control of the Ranger Dan line, but with a kick of extra gear from an upper med female. These dogs really are a true hard medium to upper medium in what I have owned and seen. Not slow by any means but not the wind splitting far reaching check dogs some of little pack like, JMO.

Joey your pup will definitely have some speed. I think the female yours is out of will for sure add the extra gear. That is what Butkus has speed and control. I have heard many say they have not seen a small male like Butkus move with that speed AND accuracy. I will see him run live and in color in a couple weeks and I will give an update!! ;)

Who says A dog has to produce FIELD CHAMPIONS to be A good producer.Ther are many fine dogs that are bred who will never see a field trial either because of lack of money, lack of time or lack of interest.I have owned beagles since 1972 and have never field trialed the first one. We(my dad,my son,me) have basically kept Dingus,Indian Hills dogs because of their hunt, stamina and ability to run A rabbit the way we like.I now have 3 Shooter dogs in my kennel and they are here to stay because of what they add to our style of running.I personally would not bash anybodys dogs they feed them so they must like them.I believe some people's ego gets in the way of common sense. As Jim Mcguire told me last year when I took 2 of my dogs for him to run He called them Mighty Mee and Mighty Moe he called the little female 1BAD A-- Beagle.I personally Like what I feed and will probably breed to Butkus

Bingo !!! Good post Mike ! There are many dogs out there that would probably finish FC but just aren't trialed. Not everybody has the money to travel from state to state entering trials. Not everybody gets caught up in trialing. Personally I would rather save the money and go run with my buddies. That's just me.

Well said, But I think trials are good for the shear exposure you get to other beaglers and beagles. You get to see dogs from all over your state and beyond. different bloodlines, styles, ect.. You meet plenty of great beaglers and get to see lots of lines of dogs run. Many trialers up here in the north hunt there dogs all winter and then trial during the off season to keep ther dogs in shape. Sure you can run with your buddies and you buddies buddy but at the trials you just get to see lots of dogs run. It's a humbling experiance. Not all the dogs may be my style but some are outstanding and live up to every hype you hear about them. The first trial I went to I got to run with a well known beagler here in NY, anyway I always saw this guy winning trials and placing in BB magazien, I figured how good could his dogs really be? Well what a show his female put on, she just ran the rabbit to death, the dog worked the check in front of the pack before they even caught up to her and then she was gone again in front of the pack without dropping the line. Of course some dogs don't live up to the hype but some of the trials are worth going to just to be able to watch and get to see lots of dogs run.....Just my two cents......DH
