Just because a dog is registered and wins the world hunt means nothing to me, I have seen plenty of grade dogs out there that are just as good or if not even better.

Thats just my opion!

Jay,

ANY grade dog can win the world.. Take em to a NKC bread inspector, slap some NKC papers on them, and go win it if they are that good.

Yes I know that NKC will register them, I'm not trying to say I could win the world hunt or anything I was just saying that there are people that have good dogs that aren't register but if they were they would do just as good. I'm only 18 and i have only been doing this for about 6 years now but you never know you just might see me at the world hunt next year!

Your Beaglin Buddy,

I see what your saying now. I was thinking you were trying to push me into some sort of contest which I don't have the time to do.
The questions you raise are interesting. I know with the "to me" blood in my dogs that their stamina usually won't be a problem. They are cold enough nosed for this area and they don't run rough, but are competitive.
I've watched my 10 month old trailing on more than one occasion with her head up and taking the lead. Granted she wasn't running against all that good of dogs, but she was just 7 months old the first time I witnessed it.
I have high hopes for her anyway.

I hope your dogs suit you as well and I apologize if I offended you. I know I came across as a smart hind end, but was more tired than anything. It was one of those "can't sleep at all" nights.
:D

Bopeye, no apology nessasary. I sometimes confuse myself. I also have a pup about the same age. She can get scent about 6 feet away from a track while on a leash, in the snow. The temperature was about 40 degrees F. Like the strike dogs use on racoons, in the back of a truck. Only problem is I can't get her to pack. I have been working with my lines for about 20 yrs. FC Mountaineer Sonny, IFC Champlain Bucky, IFC M&M's Cracker Jack, IFC Horse Shoe Driver are the foundation to my lines. Recently added FC Chase's Crockett, and my stud dog, FC Snow Run Scottie into the line. They suit me just fine. May be interested to so how they would do down your way. Do you run 13 or 15?
