Better man than me as well, as the deal was never made with anyone other than Hatteras Bob and Ernie Weir. Folks get hung up on whether money changed hands or not for there to be a contract and that has nothing to do with it. A contract is ANY agreement be it verbal or in writing whether money or other property changes hands or not and is legal binding. The only difference is in such cases as these to which nothing was put in writing and it then becomes a he said, she said situation. If this agreement was with Hatteras Bob abd Ernie Weir and the dog changed hands outside of that agreement then ther agreement becomes null and void and the female should have been returned to it's rightful owner at that time which would have been Hatteras Bob. Now, if he was aware and was OK with the dog going elsewhere then that became a contract between Hatteras Bob and South Woods kennels. If then the dog was given to Shawn Moss with the understanding and blessing of Hatteras Bob then the agreement or contract was with those two individuals as all other agreements became null and void when the terms were no longer being adhered to. If the original, agreement was for hatteras Bob to give the female to Mr. Wier to bred and raise a litter out of and the payment to be two pups in the future then that deal was never met and when Mr. Weir could not or did not complete his end of the bargain Hatteras Bob should have been notified as to what should be done with the female. I can totally understand Hatteras Bob still having the papers as I NEVER would have relinquished them minus me getting the two pups as was the original deal. I would have had no problem with making that same deal to someone else if they were to raise the litter out of the stud that was originally agreed upon.
YES, Hatteras Bob is a much better man than I, as I would have NEVER given the papers to the last of three different people if that dog was of any value to me at all and I probably would have been looking for who stole my dog, UNLESS these transfers were done with my full knowledge. It appears in this case that the transfers were never made known to Hatteras Bob until after the fact.
Ernie Weir, Jr., you owe Hatteras Bob an apology!

Nothings free and sounds like at the end of the day Bob lost out on the whole deal. He obviously didn't get the 2 pups that were agreed upon and he still gave the papers up. Better man them me!!!
I agree...bob, you should have kept the papers until you got your two pups!

This is why I don't get involved in dog deals. I buy hounds from 2 people I trust them. One in Indainia and one in WV. not saying there are not more honest people out there but the horror stories on here make me think I should keep it that way.
