I don't rum my dogs in the real bad heat and here is why:

MARYVILLE (AP) — A Blount County police dog has died from heat exhaustion.
A deputy and another dog, also from the Blount County Sheriff's Office, were treated for heat exhaustion as officers searched for two burglary suspects on Wednesday.
The Daily Times reported a K-9 named Hansen died during the search.
Deputy Nathan Payne was taken to Blount Memorial Hospital for dehydration and another K-9, named Bruno, was treated for heat at a veterinary clinic.
Deputies had responded to a call about an apartment burglary in progress. They caught one juvenile suspect before Sheriff James Berrong called off the search because of the heat. A second juvenile was apprehended Wednesday night

Just ain't worth all that to me.

Work on that reading comprehension while you are not running dogs or reading your PETA newsletter. ;) Ninety degrees at noon, then it started raining, is not running five hours at above ninety degree heat.
They don't cancel horse races at ninety degrees, they don't cancel the tour de france at ninety degrees, well you get the picture.

I turned mine out yesterday morning(I took off work) about 7:30am. A little after lunch, one of my old dogs came up in the yard with the rabbits head, and the young dogs didnt come back until 2 or 3 yesterday after noon. They get run 2-3 times a week regardless of the heat. I turn them out and leave the pens open so they can get back in when they wont. When a dog stays in shape year round, the weather never seems to make a difference.

Its understandable that a cop and a cop dog would over heat b/c they ride around in the AC all day.
Run em hard and make no excuses!

SALES PITCH!!!!!

Appropriate for this thread....

We have Re-Hydrate... a gatorade for dogs.
Drop a tablet or two (depending on exertion) in their water and let them drink when disolved.
I carry a 2.5 gal gas can full of water with me.. after they run for a while... call them to the truck and
water them... 10-15 minutes later they are re-hydrated.

8.00 for 10 tablets....
