A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
i use termidor sc. use about .67 ml down the middle of back. use it and rub in.It is great. Frontline has 9,7% fipinil and this has 9.1% fipinil. i put it on my dogs and i am very happy with results.
For a natural preventative put some Apple Cider Vinegar in the dogs water. Makes blood acidic and ticks and fleas don't like it. They still get on skin while running, but don't stick.
Also acts as an antibiotic which is good for all the scratches and infections gotten this time of year.
You eat garlic, I prefer the pickled kind as it doesn't make your breath smell and you will not get bit either.
(Ever notice ITALIANS never get bit by ticks and fleas?
Just kidding!!!)

gunslinger, do you not use the precor with the methoprene for the help with fleas? i found out i can get the stuff so i'm going to try it. madcatter suggested 1/2 to 1cc of termidor and 1cc of precor. madcatter have you ever mixed the two and just gave the dog 1 to 1 1/2cc of the total mixture??? has anyone else tried this mixture???? doesn't look like the inert ingredients have anything hazardous or it would have to be listed. would like to know more before i treat my hounds with the stuff.
let honesty run through the veins of each and every judge at each and every trial at each and
every format.
They go to the ground to lay so if you break the chain in a short time you will be rid of them as they don't live long. Put some 20 mule team boraz sprinkled on the ground and it will destroy the eggs and shortly you will not have any fleas. It will not hurt dogs.
Mine are all in large natural dirt kennels and I sprinkle it around the dog houses on the ground about 10 feet out as my pens are too big to sprinkle all over the pens.

ive tried everything but this does it really work n how much u putin water red or clear or does it matter i been using purple ear tags they wrl good just havent baught any yet
I don't know where you keep your dogs, above ground, on concrete, or in dirt and leaves pens like I do. I use the clear Apple Cider Vinegar, don't know if red would matter or not. About a teaspoon per gallon. Try the 20 Mule Team Borax too and for a quicker result, put down in the pens Hydrated Lime (not regular lime) and it will eat up all fleas as they go to ground to get moisture and as they lay eggs on and in the ground. Eats up all poop, old urine, and any bad smell too. You want to kill them, not just cause them to move to another location and start all over.

(Termidor is a non residule product if you use precor which is a growth regulator it is a residule it will cause the termidor not to be effective)
