My cousin and I have nothing but Ranger Dan bred hounds in our kennels. The reason we got started in that line was when we couldn't find anything that would hunt. Yes, we had bought dogs that would run a decent rabbit once YOU got into the thick and got one up. We came across a Ranger Dan bred female that got into the thickets and hunted and we no longer had to tromp them and that was when we started looking for dogs with Dan lineage. I have sonme with three shots of dan in them and not a one of them let any grass grow under their feet when cut off the lead. They are probably not the fastest dogs on earth but do have good foot and mouths. I have one that sounds like a woman screaming when he opens on a rabbit and he is Dan bred both top and bottom. They bring rabbits back to the gun consistently and we don't have to tromp any thick stuff to get one for them.
