I believe that battery life problems with any collar are due to the amount of charging that you do. If you recharge it every time that you use it, then it will wear down the life of the battery. Either two systems work and it's all up to what you like. I've used both and won a trashbreaker G2 and sold it the next day. We've never had problems with dogtra and that's what we will stay with.

I have a Trashbreaker G2 6 dog and have had no problems although I have only had it for about 10 months. Before this set I had a Trashbreaker ultra. It worked well for years but when I traded it in to TT it had a range of about 25 ft. This problem caused me to buy all new batteries and a new antenna. It turned out to be the electronics in the transmitter. TT credited me for the new batteries and knocked a considerable amount off of the G2 set. So far so good.

we use both the tracker and the g2 together here in the Adirondacks
haven't had a problem with the g2 yet
we also never use the E collar as a locater collar thats what the tracker
is for
all our dogs come to tone if we want them to come in using the e collar
just to hear your dog yelp is wrong!
we never had to go beyond a 2 to teach the dog to come but we hit on a 6 if they go on off game for sure
