A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
I went to usps site and you can compare rates yourself on their site. I may have done it incorrectly, but I keyed in a few numbers and found you can send periodical mail at a lesser amount than std rate. I made up a fake mailing from my zip to Houston TX and the mailing for periodical was $689 less on 10000 pieces. There is a $375. one time application fee and other requirements to get a periodical permit. It might pay to talk to usps about it. You can go to their site and click on calulate rates to compare the difference . You might also check on them about idenitifing the posting of field trial results as advertising matter, I would argue that it is not considered advertising, again I would be willing to pay more for a fine publication such as you have. It is a great magazine and I would think $20 would not be unreasonable.
Just got an e-mail from a Tennessee resident that received his Feb. issue today. All you Tennessee folks that end up with 2 please share with a child, friend, barbershop or shut-in. Thanks!
Bev,
I'm in Crossville, Tn and got my issue yesterday. If you have sent me a second issue I will comply with your wishes and give it to someone who might enjoy it.........shoot they might even subscribe to it. Hey, hey, hey!
This could be a blessing in disguise. If everyone that gets two copies will give one to someone else, it could increase your subscriptions dramatically. I hope that's what happens.
Where's the logic in that? They were mailed exactly the same way with the same amount of lead time. That's good news, though! Thanks for letting me know.
I don't know how the postal service operates, but I am about 5 or 5 and 1/2 hours west of Indy along I-70. Looks like the magazines must go west along I-70 first.
