Congrats to everyone. Some of the best dogs I've seen are at LP hunts. They promote hard hunting jump dogs. No other organization promotes a true hard hunting hound.

Do you have extensive experience in all the other KC's and formats ? I guess you must ,to make the statement , that none of the other formats reward hard hunting jump dogs!

Sorry about that AP, never thought of PKC. Never really think about them since it seems that the format is still young. I seen the points you receive in everything from strike to speed and drive is very high. UKC Hunting Beagle isn't for me and I've tried it, looks as if it's the same no thanks. To much confusion and I hate math.

Love to keep things simple!!

I think about all you would have seen is a lot of brush and dead weeds. Like I said, I saw one rabbit out of six casts. We also ran a few times before the hunt. Most ttimes we didn't even see the dogs! But the beagle music was awesome!!

Nice video don't get much better than that. I personally like little pack and have ran some akc Midwest also.I honestly didn't see much difference in the style of hound in the big males and big female class. I'm pretty sure reggie, junie, ky lucky, and switch all ran little pack and did very well along with also making Fc in Midwest good and bad in all formats so run and feed what ya like and congrats to all that place in any format.

That video was cool but a short clip, id love to see more!!
I didn't realize little pack dogs run that fast. Must have some big running rabbits.
Can that style dog run a rabbit in a tight thicket when the rabbit is making quick circles and backtracks and zigzags????

Some dogs do better on the zig-zaggy, twisty rabbits and others do better on the flat-out runners. Affects the outcome some times but luck plays a role too. In my open's cast, three dogs were "looking at a rabbit" but none of the judges were close enough so none of them scored. Would have made the difference in a win.

The dogs I have had that were decent lp dogs would skip the zigs and zags until they hit a line they could blow out on and the tight running dogs I have had would run the zigs and zags but the 15 second check keeps them from scoring. Also, a lot of the time a judge likes the dogs to blow out and show a line before scoring. That's the only downside to lp is a dog can get 10 1-5 second check on a tight running rabbit and not get scored. All in all its a good format and good people.

Trials have always been a contest, but competition ain't for everyone. Especially those with a chip on their shoulders and bad attitudes.
