If he has an NKC number and someone can produce it from their papers then I would say he should be inducted into the hall of fame, If he doesn't have an NKC number then he shouldn't be inducted as he was never registered in that registry. As far as reproducing goes, Swartz Briar Patch Big Time has produced just as many and possibly more champions than Turbo, including at least two Hall of Famers(STumps KY Mtn Chance and Swartz Little Time). Not taking anything away from Turbo as he has definitely produced some nice dogs.

Big Dog,
Please don't take this the wrong way either. I'm just curious. I don't know much about the Big Time dog. How old is he or how old was he when he died? How old are the majority of his pups? I don't have this info..He may have produced more to date, but......
I know Turbo died very young. Most of his pups are 2-3 years old and still winning trials and adding to his numbers. I'm sure he probably has closer to 200 points for reproducer if we had them all. I'm also sure we will see hounds in the HOF from Turbo. He has also been awarded for reproducer in the UKC and AKC. I believe in about 5 years from now we will look back and see no other hound in the ARHA both LP and PP has produced like Turbo. This is the sad thing! You would think that ARHA would look at this and say " This hound has made a very big impact in our organization. Many of the people out there running in ARHA trials and paying money each week are running hounds out of Turbo" They should take this into consideration. I believe it would be a good PR and business decision.

depressing board
oops
turbo
Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with Turbo being inducted into the hall of fame as a reproducer, but I don't think the rules should be changed in order to get him in, I also don't think that rules should be made up to keep him out . As far as Big Time goes he died about a year ago at about 14 years old.
As far as Little time not being out of big time, I couldn't tell you I can only go by what the papers say as I never saw the dog, but I do know the dog won 3 big 5 hunts in a years time. Big Time produced a lot of champions and grands over the years and yes he was bred quite a bit. I couldn't even begin to count the champions or grands as I don't know all of their names, but he now has 3 in the Hall of Fame, (Little Time, Chance, and Indiana Pete)

Since you have the number, why don't you just give them a call and give them the number and see what they say then. If he has a number then there shouldn't be a problem. Let us know how it turns out.

?
I just realized I dont have an NKC registered dog. I am going to sell out. Oh wait for 15 dollars I can register my collie. Whew good. Thank god NKC has so much restrictions on registering hounds keeping the bloodlines pure.....Give me a break. NKC should give honorary HOF reproducers for dogs of that caliber and contribute that much to the organization. But if HOOG aint the one trying to get him in then it is an arguement for the sake of arguement and a waste of time.
