My tribute to Cinnamon Run Honey
On a cold day in December of 2004, Mike called me and said he had a very special young hound he wanted me to see. I loaded a few hounds and headed that way. Honey had sore feet from running on hard snow but still put on a show for a young hound. I was not disappointed at all.
I had the honor of hunting and judging Honey through the open and champion class where she often put on a show.
At the 2009 World hunt, Crabby had both Honey and Reject in the grand class and both drew out in the first round and asked me if I would handle Honey for him. Quickly I replied, hell yeah. That weekend will forever be stored in my mind as one of the greatest of my life.
When the final cast was over and Honey was awarded the win, I felt like we were team mates. I gave her all I had for a 50 year old man and she gave all she had which was very typical of her.
Myself, Mike and Honey have traveled the biggest part of this country either trialing or gun hunting and with all the hounds we had with us, we always knew we had at least one RABBIT DAWG with us.
I will miss her very much even though I didn't own her, she will always be a part of me and her blood will always run deep through my kennels.
Honey made this old man feel young again and for that I have shead a few tears for her. She died doing what she loved to do and that was putting it on another dogs azz.
Thank you Crabby for allowing me to be a part of that SPECIAL dogs life.
RIP ol gal!

I think her pic should be posted in the header.......come on bev post her pic up there!
How many sons or daughters do you have in the kennel still Mike? Those are now priceless pups! Make lemon juice out of lemons and always take the bad and turn it into something good. She has left her mark in the beagle world and it will continue with her pups and grand pups. Good luck.

I do not even know what to say. You know where my love for her is at. Never a good time to loose a dog like her. Yeller power through and through. She has left her mark on the sport for sure. As well as her pups have done. A BAD BITTY in my book. Reproducing MACHINE! YELLER POWER AT its very BEST! She will be missed Mike.
Houndog you got me choked up with your post. I guess it hits home for some of us that was close to her and MIke. Sorry my Friend. BUT SHE HAS MADE HER MARK not many can say that.
Her Grand pups are even SAD. (Double HONEY pups)
