Good beagle trash talk expressions?

True story: When my dad was a teenager, his cousin & him put a beagle up for sale. A man drove out from the city to see the dog. The 3 took the beagle to the woods and within a short time the dog struck a track. He made about 3/4 of a circle then went silent. A couple minutes later the beagle shows up with a dead stiff rabbit sticking out both sides of his mouth. The old man looks at the prospective buyer and says: "He's pretty good on a cold track." Needless to say the buyer took his money and left.

It's kind of funny, I ran with a guy for over a year and he would always say "runnin like air pickin a banjer" . I was always puzzled on what he meant. I finally asked a friend of mine that knew this fellow, He just laughed and said "There running like Earl (Earl Scruggs) picking a banjo!"

I have lived in Eastern Kentucky all my life and still have trouble with the Dialect, especially with a little stutter.

I got another one, just a different guy. I had run with him several times and any time a dog would bark out of place for what every reason he would say
"sowin oats, sowin oats" real fast and just shake his head. So I asked his running buddy when he walked off what the heck was "sowing oats".
He said "Sour notes, Sour notes". I guess he didnt like the hound music.

Back In the 80's I had a pair of Dogs that ran real slow Speed. A friend of mine asked me how slow are them dogs? I said you better Pack a Hot lunch and Warm Coat Slow!

When we get a fast & rough dog take off on a rabbit in the enclosure we always say "He aint stoppin till he bounces off the fence!"

had a friend say "that dog is running that rabbit so fast that rabbit is gonna have to stop and check his oil"..

That's a good one! I was runnin witha buddy & I brought along a pup that hadn't started yet. The pup was just sittin there, and my buddy said. "Well he's a good-lookin pup. He's looking good right back at us!"

My brother has a big male that can roll a track! He will look at me and say "yours better get to steppin' if there gonna catch big Manny!" I can't help but laugh every time he says it.
