Go back to the '60s and get this one: Pearson Creek Carson. Anybody heard of this one? If you had a reg. beagle in the '70s it had some Pearson Creek in it somewhere.

I am gonna name a couple as well, both trial and stud legends.
Dingus Macrae
Jack of all Trades
Ranger Dan
East Coast Trimmer( DOMINANT in trials and reproducing!)
Greenbay Shooter( A living legend)
Striker
Greenwell's Reggie

I am sure there are many others, but you will see these dogs in a lot of great hounds today. JMO

Some of you have it right. Field Champion Gray's Linesman was the bloodline EVERYONE wanted in the early 50s when ALL field trials were the same, except for a few hare trials. Beagles then were the number one dog in AKC registrations. You can look at the thickness of 1950s Hounds and Hunting and tell how popular brace beagling was, and Linesman was at the top. In some states, there was practically a brace club in every county. And everyone knew who Linesman was. Virtually every beagle today has mutiple crosses of Linesman. Even the hare hounds trace back to him. Nothing since will ever be that big, primarily because we now have so many different styles and types of beagles. In Linesman's day, it was just brace and a few hare trials.

Grey's Linesman, without a doubt. I would wager he's found in every field trial beagle being run today. Also F.C. Patch. How may blood lines are still be continued the way the Patch line is? Another dog not mentioned was Wylcliff Boogie. He was found in the pedigree of most field trial hounds in the 60's and 70's and was a major part of the Pearson Creek line.

Interesting, Wilcliffe Boogie shows up in many of the pedigrees of beagles bred to run Hare.
