Please let me state this on the record.

If I ever and I mean ever find one of these puppy mills, there will be some serious butt kicking and burning going on. The dogs will be saved and given to good homes and the owner will wish he/she never heard of me.

That makes me sick to see them pics. So, if anyone that visits this site or any other has this kind of thing, please, please, please don't ever invite me to your house.

let me say first that if you have your dog wormed a free of parasites then a cup a day is plenty, if you don't believe me then look on the RHOL photo page(pg 3) and tell me if the 2 dogs that I have on there look to skinny or abused you may think so I don't, second the original post said thumb to finger then some posted they were doing this with both hands, once again refer to the pics, you can do that to both of those dogs I like to see the back ribs on my dogs NOT the whole rib cage, lets say in the one guys opion the dogs are to skinny and he calles someone to get something done about it and they come and say the dogs are fine then i'm going to guess that they will no longer be friends and maybe even have trouble so before he does anything make darn sure he is in the right. The reason I said that about people in prison is because somebody calls the law on someone they come and leave then you have trouble with the person you called the law on in the first place, maybe nothing happens then again I read all the time where so in so called the law on someone then later someone gets shot= someone in prison. I will be the first to say you shouldn't abuse animals but before you act be sure you are in the right, the reason I said what I said is because I thought the first post was bull $#it and still do why haven't they posted and answered some of the questions asked? One more thing just because a dog is skinny doesn't mean he is in good shape=quitting early.

I normally stay outta arguments etc.

But I have something to say about this one.

I have a soft spot for beagles and I can't stand to see one abused or mis treated. If it were my friend he would do something about it if the dogs were in the kind of shap you discribed.

I don't understand the logic behing haveing dogs half starved (so they hunt better). I bought a beagle off a guy last year just because he wasn't treating him right. He barely feed him and never ran him because he didn't like his mouth  .

That dog has a new home now and is in much better shape.

If I see a beagle being starved I'm gonna say something about it!!

I feed my dogs about a cup and half a day in the summer and thats plenty if they are not wormy. My males are all 15" and weigh about 25-30 lbs.

I feed twice that much in the winter.

As far as minding your own business. No I don't agree.

Those dogs deserve better.

Thats my two cents

I went to work last night wandering were this went wrong and then came home and reread this entire post and I'm still wandering  let me say first that nothing I posted was ment for anybody in particular(nyh) I think that there was some misunderstanding going on here first was my interpurtation of the original post compared to some of you all's. I read a post that give three examples of why a mans dogs were being starved

1 was he could put his finger and thumb around the dogs stomace

2 was the dogs get a cup a day and

3 he could count the dogs ribs.

well as I stated eariler I can put my hands around the stomace of every dog I have and I also feed my dogs about a cup a day not saying that is set in stone because I can and will adjust as needed, now the third was counting the ribs, well every dog is different some show ribs no matter how much you feed them some fatten up on a little of nothing, you cain't count the ribs on none of mine, well after reading his post as I said eariler I thought by the examples he gave it was mainly bull.... and the reason that I thought that was because at first I thought he was talking one hand, finger to thumb later realized he was talking both hands and even at that I can do that with all of my dogs and so far no one has said they looked starved even though some said a cup was not enough a vet that checked the trooper dog in the photos said he was fine so before I will tell someone to call the law about another mans dogs that sounded alot like mine except for the ribs I will say what I did and stick with it.

nowhere and I mean nowhere did I state that a man should be able to mistreat an animal or anybodys sister and get away with it, just for the record and I hate to keep beating a dead horse but if you see someone breaking the speed limit do you call the law, turning without useing a turn signal do you call the law most likely you do not, and if you do then i'm glad you live were you live and I live here, not saying that that if you see someone get shot that you don't say anything because you do just use some common sense when you are going to make accusations like the guy was wanting to hear because they are not something you can take back and if you do make them then be a man and let it be known so you don't have to here it from your buddy that some animal rights group called the law on him at least when they do it you know who it was.

that is all i'm going to post on that because I have never posted that much in my life at one time, if you see my point then great and if you don't well its america, :moon: just know now that I don't agree with abusing animals but just because someones fart doesn't smell quiet like your's doesn't mean for you to get your panties in a wad, just make sure there is a reason before you go half cocked.

i looked at link to those pictures no doubt those dogs in those pictures are abused starved and need rescuing..... if thats what we are talking about than i agree need to do something about it.. i like to see a dogs last 2-3 ribs that im hunting hard.. man i sure dont want to count every rib or like those pictures every bone in their body.. be careful bout calling peta or humane society.... i lost a dog last year . was out for a week. was picked up and brought to humane society... he was pretty thin .. he was no where near starved.. woman showed me the other dogs she had. a couple coyote hounds she was sure was abused... they were footsore... just got done running... coats shiny - maybe a little thin . they werent abused dogs just had been run hard and i bet 3 days rest could hunt again... the point is this woman thought they were just terrible shape..she also said my dog had a terrible wound.......needed a vet... it was an old scar.. no hair there... it got raw everytime i ran him... just a scrape and shes ready to call 911. . her own dogs looked like aircraft carriers... no problem land a plane on their back...i dont want my hounds too look like her house mutts.. so why is that not abuse... allowing a dog to get so fat its ruining its health... thats the big problem is non hunters dont know what a hunting dog should look like.. if your dog is ideal shape and you hunt hard for a week it can look pretty thin... ive picked up mine looking lot different than when i let them go.. these humane people just dont have a clue what a good hound will do before it quits... a couple days off and ready to go again... pete
